If I may tack onto your post, if anyone's interested in both the Panzer Dragoon & House of the Dead Remakes they're in a bundle here for $10.48 US https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/25959/FE_Remake_Bundle/

I just bought Panzer Dragoon for nostalgia reasons, and also to support the Devs. Graphically the Remake looks awesome, it's a short game tho. The Devs have said they may port the other Dragoon games to Steam, probably for whatever reason the older ones.

I really just want Orta on Steam. Orta is an amazing game.

I've heard great things but I've not played any of 'em myself (yet!). Hopefully it did/does well enough that they port more!

It'd be better if a different studio did them, the Panzer Dragoon 1 remake lost a lot of the essence of the original. Would still recommend playing the Sega Saturn version over it.

Heh I bought the Valve complete pack for like $1.79 just to be a completionist and get the rest of the Valve games I don't have even though I have no interest in playing them

Some great games that are also at their Steam all-time low price:

+1s:

  • Monster Train - Conceptually my second favorite card based rougelite (behind Hand of Fate 2), which has more strategic variety than most card roguelites (even Slay the Spire) due to the multi-level train concept & a bit of tower defense of your own spire, only lacking a little in card synergies compares to StS. I got more game time out of it than most roguelites, but it also came at a time when I was not playing games as often as I used ro.

  • DX:HR - Great story and well rounded gameplay introduced me to "immersive sims" on the OG Xbox.

  • DX:MD - Well rounded gameplay and world, though a weaker story by the end. Didn't feel unfinished to me like others say, just part of the end felt like a bully trope.

Anyone who decides to play the original Grandia via the Steam release should check this out for restoring the textures to their original unfiltered versions: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2369504101

Also keep in mind the Steam version is a port of a port, and has a ton of visual issues not found in the original: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1932732522

Don't forget it took them literally 4 years to fix some basic things like game rendering in resolution one grade lower than your monitor has or global illumination.

Didn't touch it myself, but apparently though, although still with issues here and there. And I don't know if FAR is updated for this version as I remember kaldaien said something about having no plans of updating FAR for the patched version of the game.

By the way, if you all need is a resolution/alt-tabbing fix, you can try Borderless Gaming (or other similar tools) that forces the game to, well, run in borderless windowed mode. So, at least 1080p (can't say anything about resolutions above that as I only have 1080p monitor) and no problems with alt-tabbing.

Price increase!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1167630/Teardown/
10 bucks more from March 23. It means that the price at current -30% (actually -20%) will come around only at 50% discount. The game is pretty much successful so -50% will probably be the limit for several years (I'm looking at you, Noita).

  1. it's -20% not -30%
  2. it's already expensive, but of course I wish them luck
1 year ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh, yeah it's -20%. Sorry! I was focusing more on the monetary side. It's 15.99$ now, later with full price at 29.99$, you will need 47% discount to get to the same level.
AND! The game was released before new steam regional pricing. And by the look of it they used the default (suggested steam price), old version. I suspect, they will recalibrate their pricing to the new standard. It means that certain regions will see additional price bump on top of the increase they announced.

Probably if you are from Turkey, Argentine or CIS country you likely won't see Teardown this cheap for years to come. Since for these regions steam is now suggesting to almost double the price for a game.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

And by the look of it they used the default (suggested steam price), old version.

No, they did not. For PLN they priced the game at 88 PLN instead of Valve's suggested 71,99 for $19,99 games.
If they use the "new" Valve' suggested prices, in many regions it will be even more expensive than in dollars, because these prices were set when the dollar was at all time high vs some currencies and now it's even 20% lower.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You do you! I'm not selling you the game, I'm just pointing out to a potential opportunity (or missed opportunity).
But I can tell for sure that for CIS region they used old default. There is strong suspicion that the regions I mentioned above are going to get hit since they changed the most.

P.S. For personal interests, after March 23nd I'll look up the new price for Teardown in polish zloty, whether it will be old default (107,99zł) or new one (138,99zł) or something in between.

Here is some update on regional pricing of Teardown:
Argentine
The price from lowest 180ARS (-20%) with full price at 225ARS increased to 1499ARS(+666%). You will need -88% discount to get to the 2023 spring sale level.

Turkey
The price from lowest 30liras (-20%) with full price at 38liras increased to 175₺(+460%). You will need -83% discount to get to the 2023 spring sale level.

Kazakhstan
The price from lowest 2120kzt (-20%) with full price at 2650kzt increased to 7349₸(+277%). You will need -72% discount to get to the 2023 spring sale level.

Russia
The price from lowest 399rub (-20%) with full price at 499rub increased to 999rubles(+250%). You will need -61% discount to get to the 2023 spring sale level.

Ukraine
The price from lowest 223₴ (-20%) with full price at 279₴ increased to 459₴(+164%). You will need -52% discount to get to the 2023 spring sale level.

Poland
The price from lowest 70.4zł (-20%) with full price at 88zł increased to 119zł(+35%). You will need -41% discount to get to the 2023 spring sale level.

As suspected the regions used for price smurfing got hit the hardest. Instead of planned 33% increase they got extra with new steam regional pricing. Other countries such as Poland just got their *1.33 multiplier, meaning the Devs used new price template only for special cases to combat regional hopping.
