The problem with a blanket invite is getting the bad apples, all the people I have invited have been proven contributors to the community at large, be it through PiF's, giving away games on /r/gaming or what have you.
A blanket involvement from reddit would be devastating, of that I am sure. Plus, you're getting people to spam cult, as if it's his job to deal with random mooches and self-entitled d-bags demanding invites to a gated community.

Cult, I completely forgot to thank you for doing this! I really do appreciate it, as it's easier than getting an invite code, which at this point I cannot afford.

I say let people invite people who are worth inviting. When cg first mentioned this site to me, RogueDarkJedi and GLaPOS were the first names that came to mind for me to get involved, cause I knew they were good guys. I then thought the users of the PiF subreddit who had done PiFs... That's the kind of people we want involved, hand pick the good apples and you won't have to deal with the rotten mush.

I've noticed that submissions have been slowing down lately, and since generating invites to give out to friends is such a drain on points, I figured reddit is a good way to spread the word. It's how I learned about the site, so I suggest that any fellow redditors give it a try as well.
