Judging by past experience this minor detail will not stand in the way of many of the site's more intellectually challenged members.

don't you get an activation key for steam when you buy them? (thats with most of the gamersgate games that are on steam)

Most gamersgate games that are on steam do NOT have steam keys. Only the steamworks games do!

Also, Ubisoft game. They have their own client, so they will never provide steam keys.

"Most gamersgate games that are on steam do NOT have steam keys"... wut? I can tell you from purchases there even most games that have a serial works on Steam even when not listed as such on the product page, bar the exception of things like EA, Rockstar and Rocksteady titles.

"Also, Ubisoft game. They have their own client" -- for retail yes, but you can still buy them from Steam and use both Steam/Ubiservers.

I can show you litteraly hundreds of games that gamersgate sells and that are on steam, yet they are not steam keys.

"for retail yes, but you can still buy them from Steam and use both Steam/Ubiservers."
That has nothing to do with gamersgate. You can buy it from steam, but you cannot buy steam keys(at gamersgate for example) for fairly obvious reasons!

not steam redeemable, but cool nonetheless. brotherhood is $5, revelations is $12 - if you can wait for christmas, expect them to be the same by then for the steam sale. rev might even be $10.

Fans who don't have most of the franchise might snap it up even if it's not Steam-redeemable, but what worries me is the DRM method. Such a hassle.

brotherhood deluxe = $9.99 = fail, this is the same price as what was in steam summer sales. waiting brotherhood @ $7.49 in next steam sale.

So I'm not sure of this myself, but when I look at my own GamersGate account, my refrral link starts with ?caff=
And the link above works just fine without the ?aff=
But it seems to me that ?aff= could just be them tracking how people get to the link (since the text is ggnews, it stands to reason), and ?caff= links are "customer affiliate" links, i.e. REAL referrals.

Anyone know more about this, or whether this is an actual referral link?
