there are constantly threads for music, movies, and games, but so little love for the written word!

I'm currently reading Uprooted by Naomi Novak. I thoroughly enjoy her Temeraire series and I highly recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in historical fiction (even if you don't it's worth looking into).

update: Now reading "Blood and Iron" by a local author

I recently finished Uprooted and Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf (Salvatore) and thoroughly enjoyed both.

Currently reading:

  • Isaac Asimov The Complete Stories Volume 1
  • Blood and Iron by Jon Sprunk (a local author)
  • Homecoming (as soon as it arrives) by R.A. Salvatore

And I have "The Goblin Emperor" on the up-next list!

I recently read books 1 through 10 of Piers Anthony's Xanth series. I took a break because Vale of the Vole left me with a bad aftertaste for some reason, and I was getting sort of tired of the series anyway(Not sure if I'll get back to it). Then I read books 1 and 2 of Glen Cook's Garret P.I. series. Now I'm trying to read book 1 of The Runelords series by David Farland. I'm not sure if I'll get into it, though.
EDIT: I forgot, I've also been dipping into "What's Wrong With Eating People? and 33 more perplexing philosophy puzzles" by Peter Cave.

The Dark Tower III: The Waste Lands by Stephen King

It's not bad, but can't say it amazing either, at least for me.

Wow. I saw a painting of the Temeraire yesterday. First time I heard of that ship too. What coincidence. :P

But, A Song of Ice and Fire, the fifth book (A Dance with Dragons).

The fourth book of the Lord of the Ice Garden. I haven't touched it in 6 months now after going through the first three books in three weeks. And because I haven't finished with it I don't want to start another book and there are so many books I own that I want to read, and another lot of books I wish to re-read I just... I... am so incredibly lazy.

I am currently reading what I'm typing.

I'm much more of a writer than a reader myself.
I guess my reading habits are limited to the daily free newspaper on the train to work, as well as some technical forums about VBA.

That's a great true crime novel. I would recommend watching the film Capote after reading the book, too, if you haven't yet.

Yup, I'm really looking forward to watching it actually!

I'm a big fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman, and I'm really enjoying the book so far, so I know the film's going to be fantastic too.

I had finally found the Door into Summer so I've picked The Ocean at the End of the Lane since it was for 1.3€ – which is about the maximum price I'm willing to pay for an e-book. Arrrr.

You should read Redshirts and Fuzzy Nation, even more of his uniquely witty brand of humor. Especially Redshirts if you're a Trekkie.
