How insecure is this connection?

I'm at relatives house and they have a guest connection with a password before you can connect to anything. Not like a password to connect to the network, but you have to connect to the open wifi, and then open your browser and enter the guest password.

Is this insecure? They live in a small neighborhood away from the city so I'm not worried about hackers but I was just wondering for future knowledge.
