Hi there.
So, I'm new to steamgifts.com but I've gotta say it's a pretty cool sight. Anyway, for the past couple of days, I've been seeing these "Contributor Only" games which have been posted on to the Open Raffles section. Some of these games are games that I would very much enjoy having, i.e. Metal Slug 3, Bioshock, Witcher 2, etc. I've opened this forum topic to ask: How can I become a contributor and what are the benefits of contributing (for me and you)?

Buy games, create giveaways for the game on the site, get contributor value = to the price of the game. Some games on the list are starred * meaning you will only get the first $25 worth of it counted until you contribute more non starred/bundled games.

Umm... Not quite.

The total CV for bundled games (those on the list) is a calculated price. Basically, the way it works is that the first $25 of your bundled games contribution is counted as "non-bundled" CV. After that, the CV you get for bundled games is limited to 20% of your non-bundled CV total. The price of non-bundled games counts directly toward your CV, so that's straight-forward.

Hey, welcome to SG. Just create giveaways and you'll receive the current $ price equivalent in contributor value.
Keep in mind, that certain games, the so called "bundled games" (marked with a * in the dropdown list) won't raise your CV above $30.00 for the simple reason, that they've been available for a very low price in a bundle or even for free in one of the many constantly appearing promotions.

The benefits of contributing are 1) you gain some CV here and there, so 2) you can join contributor giveaways and most importantly 3) you share with the community and keep it alive.

Bundled games continue to count toward CV, but the total amount of that CV will always be 20% of non-bundled CV or less. Someone like me, who has a high non-bundled CV total, will immediately receive the full CV of a bundled game once the giveaway is finished. That is because my non-bundled total is so high that I never reach the 20% cap.
