I tend to get "sad" when a game that i think deserves to be bought and the developer deserves the money because what they do is awesome... ane well we all know that getting a game in a bundle is basically a last chance to get money out of the game... dreamfall chapters is the most reacent example, the game is newish and its predesessors are known to be some of the best graphic adventures of all time, i consider them to be that great and it makes me sad for them going out for so little... tho i will buy it happily anway because yay finally i will have it :D

Especially when it's a really good game, and then people are like "Meh, it's just a bundle game.. Whatever..."

Actual reaction should be "Oh shit it actually got bundled!? Niiiiiiice" At least that how I felt with Wasteland and Shantae lol.

Ha I don't want to hear that . I tried giving it a quick start the other day but halfway through my 4th character game decided it didn't want to respond anymore lol. Hopefully I don't encounter as many bugs and crashes...or for the love of God if I do. I hope I remember to save often xD

It's a mixture really. At one point I'm happy because I can get it cheap, it looks great, and more people get to play it!
At another point I can be kinda sad because people don't think the game has any qualities or are worth anything simply because it's 'just' a bundle game. "Even the devs don't value their own game since they bundled it" .. At least some people see it that way.

Also another thing which can be sad is if you bought a nice game to make a giveaway for and you want to wait for your celebration thread or whatever, and then in the meantime it gets bundled^^'

That's when people like us need to chime in a say "Oh but it is worth playing, and you should try to play it now " It's a lot easier for people to be negative though.

Yea that would suck depending on the price of the game and the bundle it's in. Pay 20$ for something for it to be bundled a couple of days later in a 4-6$ tier might bum me out a little too. The silver lining though you could say to yourself "At least it didn't go free" lol

+1
I felt that way with The Darkness II. Love that game to death! ...then it was in the $1 tier on humble bundle...
I mean, I then bought it like three times for friends.. who never played it because it was "just some bundle game". So yeah. Not cool sometimes.

Would you possibly get sad if Fallout 4 was bundled for a cheap price(implying you dont have it yet)?

Nope, but it is diferent i am talking mostly of little companies that are bundling their games because they need the money

Well, I wouldn't get sad at any game getting bundles unless I bought the game prior to it being bundled. As you said, companies want to get money, because duh that's their living; so you shouldn't get sad at all.

No, cause many times they actually make more from being bundled. Not to mention far more people playing and lead to far more exposure. Both for that game, and for future ones. From the same bundle there is Shadowrun Dragonfall, an amazing game imho, so people getting it might lead them to getting Shadowrun Hong Kong, their latest installment. Not to mention Necropolis which is due out soon, and Battletech which they just started on.

Also, it's not like some person just decides what games to bundle, they agree to it too, so they must have their reasons.

I was actually a little sad that Shantae got bundled. Especially after almost beating it. But hopefully Wayforward and other devs get a nice cut and the mass awareness of their game helps it when it goes on sale in the future or they make another. But that sadness fades pretty fast when I realize what a great deal I got on games I wanted to play but not buy just yet.

I dont mind. In the case of dreamfall, its still full price on steam, and by being in a bundle it lets a lot of people get easier access to it, which could in turn increase word of mouth and thusly sales

Another way to look at this:

People have steam backlogs into the thousands.

The developer of a bundle game gets money from alot of people who will never play their game.

Free market and over saturation (greenlight junk) will mean low prices unless main stream exposure unfortunately.

Not really. I do think that games might be undervalued due to "wait for sale" "wait for bundle" mentality, but ultimately it's a good way to get your game into new hands. More word of mouth for that game, and more people who might become a fan of that dev's work and look out for past or future games.

I did lose a level due to bundles but again, it's easy to build up.

I look forward to bundled games, irrespective of SG outcome.
I can't pay $59 for AAA titles, so when they get bundled after a year, I swoop.

Nope, I often end up buying the games at 50%-75% before or after bundle . Hell I cant remember when was the last time I bought a game bundle.
If I want to play a game I just end up buying it(Though prefer to be at least 50% off unless its a new release)

Not usually, but every once in a while a game that I really like will be in a bundle and I think "How many people are just going to idle this for cards because it's in a bundle?"

One exception is Crosscode, which I got in a bundle; it's a promising early access game but I have the feeling that being bundled will hurt its market value later.

It narks me for a fraction of a second when a game I've bought previously but not yet got around to get's bundled (i.e. Dragonfall) but given I bought said game for £2.50 in the last sale, the feeling is fleeting and I just gift the key in question...

Yes.
Because I like to give away games that I think are cool but somewhat rare on this site.
So then I snag a copy during a sale, and fail to make a giveaway before the game turns up in a bundle two weeks later and all of a sudden the "rare" factor is gone...

On the flipside, game getting bundled can also make me very happy if it's on my wishlist, as I can then get it at a discount and with bonus games included...

In many cases, they seem to use it as a replacement for actually decreasing the MSRP of older titles. I'm not super enthused about that model, but at least you can get the back catalog for a reasonable price eventually.

In some ways, yeah I guess. It could mean that the game didn't do well on launch, like Adventures of Pip is on a bundle right now (not sure how well it did, just guessing).

Not anymore. Before I cared because I buy some games full price / less than 50% sale. Now with the humongous backlog? I don't do those stuff I did before so I really don't care if games get bundled or not anymore.

not really, I just think this will give an amazing game the chance to be played by lots of gamers who may not have otherwise gotten the chance to play it. Alot of games just sit in my unplayed batch though.

I don't really care, I like getting games for as cheap as possible. The devs chose to put their game in a bundle, so clearly they're okay with getting less money.

why should i be sad? Its about your money and i think the developers have earned enough money from it and want to squish the last thousands of it out by selling it for a really good price.
