How many games do YOU have on your wishlist?
I keep mine barely below 200. I wanted to reduce it due to the layout changes but decided not to do so because I actually really want to play those. It's not like I'm gonna buy those anytime soon but it helps speeding up things when you want to know if those are on sale.

I use it for the same purpose - everything I care about on steam is in one place, and I have it synced up to 'isthereanydeal' so I get emails if anything is discounted across the web. I'm not afraid of missing out on a deal, which is good.
It makes steam sales thrilling, too!

I have 121 on my wishlist. Some of them are free games that I added to remind myself to play them when I find time, and some are games that have yet to be released.
It is kind of a ridiculous figure, but doesn't grow nearly as fast as my backlog. It seems every Humble Monthly brings in games from my wishlist, and I eternally struggle to find the time to play them.

I'm glad you had more Humble Bundle Monthly luck than I did! I ended my year-long subscription this month for money reasons, and it helped that I each month I would keep maybe one game from the bundle. A few months I didn't keep anything!
I will miss the excitement on every first friday of the month, though. That was fun to look forward to.
I only ever really add to my backlog around the big sales. Which is good, because that's grown by about 200 games in the past year, too.

Sorry that it didn't work out well for you. I finally subscribed last year, after seeing that the unlocks always had something from my wishlist that I was missing out on. I haven't been disappointed since. There's always been at least one game from my wishlist and one or more other games I was interested in. Some months are great, some less so, but I've always come away with at least 2 games and feel glad to give away the rest. I've almost stopped buying games on their own because of Humble Monthly.
Now if only I had the free time to keep up with those games... You know it's bad when you get the sequel to a game you haven't played.
And yet I'm still eyeing the current Humble Strategy Bundle, and thinking that 2 games from my wishlist for $12 is actually a pretty good deal...

That's a big trim! How did you weed so many games out?

I realised a lot of games I just added cos I didn't want to loose track of them. I kinda wish they had two lists, the current wishlist for games you really want and a second list for ones your just interested in (especially since they already have a not interested list). I 'followed' most of the games that I removed from my wishlist so I didn't forget about them entirely but that list has no options, you can't even sort them 😒

I get that!
I kind of 'made' my own functionality for that by making my wishlist again in an Excel spreadsheet and sorting and color-coding games in that spreadsheet that correspond to their number in the steam wishlist. So games numbered like 1-70 are games I actively super want, 71-150 are games I want somewhat less, etc. etc.
It was a lot of work up front (but the fun kind!), but it does help with focusing my attention.

I sort my wishlist only by price/prize reduce or date of adding it (to find the ones that i took inside of the GA winning chances ... because i kick them after the GA's end :-D).
Never sorted it at the number or changed there anything. So my numbers in the wishlist are for sure complete random :D

Thank you very much! My only regret is that it's very difficult to work this skill into job interviews.
"Why yes I'm organized and love spreadsheets, I make spreadsheets for my video game hobby all the time..."

49, which could be reduced to probably 10, but I have some games in there I want to keep track of.
also requiem for innocence hype

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! I can't whitelist you again, you're there already!
That's what prompted me to make this thread - I was moving Requiem for Innocence to the top of my wishlist so I can insta-buy it as soon as it's released, and then I caught sight of the huge wishlist number.
I am so pumped, it looks so good

Just 5 weeks! Turns out you were already whitelisted too!
Also hopefully once this is released, we'll get a hardcopy release for Fata

Agreed! Though my biggest dream is that they're announcing they're translating the Collected Edition next.
I want modern vignettes with all the characters, especially Giselle and Michel!

I never go above 100 items on my wishlist.
At the moment I have 76, including dlcs. I am also following a couple more, particularly titles that are still in early access. But sometimes I buy games that are not on my wishlist before some that are so I guess it doesn't really matter :)

I typically try to stay below 100. Sitting at 90 now.

498 but a lot of it are DLC's (mostly put inside that i see them here in my whitelist), a small part free games (as reminder that i want DL them when i have the time and nothing else in the download) and a very small part because of GA that are combined with "put game X into your wishlist to have the chance to win game XYZ"

1018, easier to wishlist anything that looks even remotely interesting than trying to find it again later in a sea of trash.
Also use it to keep track of upcoming games so I have a lot of these.

At that point it can't be called Wishlist anymore. It's a store lol

I am there with you on that one, with a whopping 1076 atm. I use it for the reasons you've already stated, as well as to keep track of discounts, be it Steam sales or Isthereanydeal.

Yes, forgot to mention that but it's really useful for sales too since ITAD syncs your wishlist. Currently I have the 45 first items ordered, then it's stuff I'd be interested to get eventually with a good sale or bundle.

I agree :) I really don't understand the people going ballistic over seeing a huge wishlist; it's not like I am going to buy/win them all at once and never ever play them :D
It is simply more practical, as we already said. There is a ton of games I don't even remember, at all, and I become pleasantly surprised seeing them, games that were probably put on the wishlist once they were announced.
We are simple men, we like - we click Add to wishlist. :D

530-ish. Last year I was around 400 :/ I remember that a few years ago (2012 or 2013 probably?) there was an event reward for adding 15 or 20 games to your wishlist. I was at around a dozen and kinda struggled to add more to that. Now I often add 4-5 games to the wishlist every week :x

196, partly because I like/want them, mostly because it's easier to just have them on the wishlist here on SG...

I agree! I have a whole section of my wishlist that's mostly 'I don't know if I'd BUY this game, but I definitely wouldn't mind winning a giveaway for it!'

Usually less than 40. I try to keep it as short as possible, putting in it only the stuff that REALLY interest me and i'm gonna play as soon as i buy it. Everything else belongs in the "maybe" category, games that, while interesting, i'm probably not going to play anytime soon.

75, I only keep games on there I'm basically certain I'd enjoy (in case someone decides to gift me something from it). I've viewed every game on Steam and have over 20K games set to "Not Interested", so I've refined my wishlist quite a bit to get it that low. As for games I'm merely interested in but am not so sure about, I add them to my barter.vg wishlist instead.
("Dynamite Bunny" is an exception; I'm keeping it on there to remind myself to buy it as a gift for someone once it releases).

mine's currently at 176. i keep 5 at the top that i'd actually buy if i see them for 75% off and the rest are would like to try someday but wouldn't necessarily buy. those work with the rachart enhancer when i look at bundle postings here, and i also look at only wishlist giveaways.

You dont seems like a collector, so why to have so many games on the wishlist?
Comment has been collapsed.
They have over 500 games on Steam, I'd say that's enough to be called a collector.
Though obviously not anywhere near the number of games you have.
Comment has been collapsed.
He is 4 years on steam. Thats the points. 125 games each year... thats not a collector.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm a girl, and also this is a weird question you've asked me.
Whether I pass your personal barometer of a 'collector' or not - I like games a great deal, and all the games in my wishlist are games I would like, in some capacity, to play someday. Does there need to be any more justification than that?

It dawned on me this morning that, despite my best efforts, I have a whole 383 games on my wishlist. I think it's been more than a year since I had less than 300. The number never seems to go down.
On the one hand, this is a good thing - a wealth of games I want to play even when (.... if...) I finish my backlog. On the other hand, that's a lot of games!
What about you folks? Do you have a lot of games on your wishlists? Do you like using them (especially after the last wishlist update)? Why or why not?
