When I finished the main quests (and all the sides ones I found) in Skyrim and Oblivion, I felt a little sad that my game was "over". Same with Dragon Age Origins and even the second Dragon Age.
Portal 1 and 2 I was really excited and happy to finish. Especially Portal 2. The ending felt pretty satisfying to me.
I guess it depends on the game really. Rpgs tend to make me sad the journey is over, and most others I do end up feeling excited that I beat the game.

For me "finishing a game" is usually completing it in it's entirety, not just getting the/an ending. I do always watch through the credits the first time, since, well, you never know what might pop up there. Games that actually have you do something during the credits (like, say, fighting monsters in the end of Devil May Cry 3) are extra great. :D
So, anyway, if I liked the game the feel is "Awwwww, it finished. :'(" and if I didn't really like it all that much it's "Yaaay, I can uninstall this thing forever! :D". If it's something in the middle it's probably "-1 backlog. Stoic face here". Before you ask- I haven't played a game which would be "Too awful to finish." yet since I try to stay away from those. :P

usually relief and I delete the game from disc shortly after completing the main story, even though I usually buy games with DLC's included, I don't bother playing them cuz I always feel exhausted when I finally reach the credits
barely any game keeps me entertained till the end, most of the time I just want to finish them, so that I don't have to bother playing them again If I didn't enjoy them greatly

The psychology behind video games is a really interesting concept. Finishing a game has a therapeutic effect on the mind. When I beat a game I feel a deep sense of accomplishment, pride and relief. After beating the last boss, or fighting through the hardest level we feel refreshed. Games makes us feel in control, it's probably one of the main reasons we love to play them.
I wonder what do you feel when you finish a game? When it's over do you listen to the ending song, wait through the credits?
Here are a few ending themes from games that made me wait through the credits:
Lisa Miskovsky - Still Alive (Mirror's Edge)
Honor for all - Jon Licht & Daniel Licht (Dishonored)
Troy Baker And Courtnee Draper- Will the Circle Be Unbroken (Bioshock Infinite)
Darren Korb & Ashley Barret - Setting Sail Coming Home (Bastion)
