The big picture is, they can gain enormous contributor value while spending very little actual money. Then they can enter big giveaways alongside people who have spent a hell of a lot more money. Very important: Big giveaways that aren't bundle games. Some people give away games to make others happy, others give away games for contribution value.
The existing system works very well to limit bundle value, so they shouldn't be banned. But still, that's a perfectly logical reason for him being upset.
