Perhaps he meant that the bad rep he might get out of it might make people leave his group/people unwilling to join his group as quickly in the future. If so, he might not be able to ask devs for as many free keys in the future, not only to give out but to put on his account too so he could be talking about the value of free games he'll no longer get. Let's be honest, these gleam promotion groups are done to benefit the people running them, not others (us). Nothing really wrong with that, but I very much doubt they bring much value to the devs either. Devs could just as easily give the keys away themselves and these groups are needless middlemen leeching off them.
