"Professional" pornstars solicit via wishlists and autographed merchandise all the time. It's an old tradition that predates the internet, back when they'd feature dance at clubs around the country and autograph stuff for cash, like a Polaroid you took with them for $$$.
It has nothing to do with earning enough money. Like any other industry, if there is more money to be had, then it's gonna be had.

Not sick, but a bit of an overzealous fan. I'm pretty sure we all have our favourites, but not sure how I feel about buying them a gift for just doing their job well. This is the same as buying a gift for an actor or a youtube personality for me, and I personally do not see why it should matter if the person is a porn actor.
