I won something and the person sent it. Just tried to activate it however Steam just says "Ooops Sorry already redeemed" despite it still sitting in the persons inventory and not being on my account (even after shutting down Steam and restarting it, and not in my inventory).

I've contacted the person who sent it and I figure we can just trade it next time we are both on, but I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and if you know a way to fix it. Also to provide a potential heads up to yet another region/trading issue that may be occurring with Steam.

The Title is not Region Locked.

Probably just Steam being a general mess. Trading should work,or simply waiting a while/ask him to resend/ask him to deliver through email.

It happened to me with a win from Playblink. Spent weeks trying, contacted their support (no response).

Months later I was looking for another old email, saw that, figured 'Why not?' and it worked.

I recommend getting in contact with the gifter, you won't want to wait that long.

First time I read, I though it said "Spent weeks crying"

Probably both, when dealing with Playblink support...

Dealing with them would indicate they responded back. I was ignored.

It's easier to enter their steam chat and sending Law a message. He will fix it super fast, once he reads it.

I'll keep that in mind if there is a problem in the future then. The link worked much later anyway, so I don't need help with that now.

Happened to me, i got an error but the gift was send to the winner anyway, tho it was marked as rendemed becouse of the error.
A workaround is just simply to send via the steam client and not the email.

Disable steam family sharing and try again. This is only happening if you are sharing library with someone and that someone is having that game.

Not true. I never used Family Sharing, but I still had that problem.

The only time i had a problem was with family sharing.

It was something else causing the problem. Even having the game doesn't stop you from receiving it in an email, so it can't be family sharing.

Have the person who sent the gift send it again, for some reason the activation link may be broken. It happened to me once and I solved this way.
