My favourite is Bethesda just because of their epic RPG s that have over 100 game play hours per game. Who is your favourite game developer and why?

Nobody has mentioned Legend Entertainment, yet?! How is this possible? Are they really forgotten? With amazing and/or crazy stuff like Death Gate, Superheroe League of Hoboken, Mission Critical, Eric the Unready and many more... they don't deserve to fade from collective memory.

Overkill Software. Some people might not like them for all of the dlc's coming to Payday 2, but i think they're great because of their frequent updates, a ton of free stuff and that they actually listen to the players.

I also like how there's a lot of people here who's favourite "developers" are actually just publishers :)

Well I love Payday 2, I've invested +100h in the last couple of months and have bought some DLC.

However I think their DLC charging is kind of excessive, they should pair the extra characters with their themed missions DLC, even with their metric ton of charged DLC I don't hate them, I just think they could be better (Witcher games always give away free armors, weapons and minor quests per example).

What I hated was there newest realeased DLC. I mean seriously, they released a character and heist dlc on the same day each costing about £5 each. They could have easily bundled them two both together.

My point of exactly! $7 or 8 would have been fair for Casino + New Character (Sokol costs $5 alone). The base game costs $20, I don't think that 1 character and 1 new mission are worth 60% of the base cost, but since ppl keep paying them they will keep charging those fares.

Yes, i do kind of agree on that matter. There are a LOT of dlc's for Payday, and i'm pretty sure they will add a bunch more. They could've defintively charged less for the dlc's in some way, but atleast Payday is on sale quite frequently, so unless you want stuff the day it comes out, you can get the dlc's for a 50-75% discount if you just wait a bit.

Yeah, I've bought 3 for about $3 last month. It just would be nicer if they paired the characters with their themed missions at least.

Their console releases are less than stellar and their attitudes to them are no better.

Of course, if they would've updated the console versions as often as the pc version they would probably go bankrupt. Xbox (i'm not sure about Playstation) takes a fee for updating the game.

I am not talking about the console versions having the same amount of DLC, I am just saying they should at least work.

I do like publisher games but in terms of developer I'm more impressed by good games made by a few creative people.

  • Rare until Perfect Dark Zero.
  • Bioware until massive DLC milking.
  • Bungie until Destiny letdown.

Right now it's CD Projekt, I bought a Witcher Steam key and they gave me a free GOG copy, i.e. DRM-free. Also they give away most of their DLC content that every other publisher/dev will charge you for.

I really like DayBreak (former SoE), the guys responsible for H1Z1.

I had the best experience with devs when playing H1Z1.

They were the devs that I've seen more worried about making their game better AND talking to the community about everything. Never seen such good and fast feedbacks from any other company.

They are mature, responsible and they really love and care about their game and their relationship with the community.

I would mention Valve, but I think they lack on the communication with the community. They are aware of what community complains about, they read everything, but the feedback they give before any update is literally 0. You gotta just wait and hope they are listening (they proved they are), but don't expect a response from them about anything.
