I've always wanted to learn HTML, but it looks like a foreign language to me. Now I'm finally feeling motivated to learn it.

Does anyone know any good resources or sites that could help a beginner like me? I' d rather it be free, but I'd be willing to dish out a little money until I get the basics down. I'm also open for tips if anyone has any!

Hope everyone is having a good and non stressful week so far \O/

Edit: Thanks for all the suggestions! I've been checking them out and they are exactly what I'm looking for.

I've learned the basics, but nothing more.
I really hope there is a giveaway somewhere or my time here was wasted.

HTML is super easy but no one uses it anymore. Have you checked out https://www.codecademy.com?

It's still a decent learning language (you could figure it out in a day), but most websites use CSS or some other style code now.

Um, I think there's some misunderstanding on your part. Every website uses HTML, they have to - it's what defines the content.
CSS is used in addition to HTML, it defines how the HTML looks.

You might be getting confused by HTML frameworks like Angular or possibly backend languages like PHP, but all of those produce HTML for the browser to parse. And again with "other style code", they still have to transpile down to CSS to be interpreted by the browser.

My point is, no one manually codes in HTML anymore. Such as how I learned in the 90s.

even if we do not manually code in html, having the basic knowledge is necessary for anyone doing web programming

Agreed, which is why I still recommended taking a day to learn it. But, someone could still get by easily using Dreamweaver tutorials and not typing a lick of code.

Eeeh, I still code some simple websites manually. Sure, not plain HTML alone, but it's not like you need to bring entire framework or IDE to code something as simple as ASF STM.

The best in my humble opinion, is https://www.freecodecamp.org along with the YDKJS books series to learn Javascript, you could learn full stack web development with those resources.

I'd recommend TutorialsPoint. Though I find they generally work better as a quick reference than a proper intro guide.
