In case it is Left 4 Dead 2 (which is the last game you won and the person who gifted it is from Germany) DON'T activate it. At least not before Steam support tells you they'll exchange it with the regular version. The German version is an absolute mess, it's not even the same game. And you can't get rid of it once it is in your library, you'll be stuck forever with a crippled game.
I googled a bit and I fear Steam doesn't exchange versions, but they may give the person who gifted the game a refund and remove the game from your inventory...which won't help you.

Could not find much info regarding this, has anyone ever had a similar incident?
I have not activated the game yet, as I am still waiting for a response from Steam Support. I'm not even sure if they can change it to the global version?
