Profile awards display in Steam profile

Since winter sale I notice that some accounts have "Profile awards" display - it is on the right side of profile window above badges below online/offline status.

I have some awards, but they don't show up near badges.

How I can display them there? (I'm not talking about awards showcase)

Under your general profile settings.... right at the bottom you have the option of showing or hiding your awards.

It is explained below, that "Profile awards ≠ Normal awards"
That was the case (confirmed it with friend's profile)

Profile awards are awards, which users give only to profiles.
You don't have any profile awards yet.
