Maybe I'll just stop buying games from Steam and 100% rely on Humble instead. Those Worms games costed me like 10€, never played any of them except Crazy Golf, and now here is a chance to get all of them for $1. Even with the extra keys, I would still regret buying these games from Steam, but now it's literally ~7€ wasted for NOTHING. I don't blame either Steam or Humble for this, but trying to think logically, I simply shouldn't buy games from Steam anymore. Seeing how frequent these bundles/weekly sales are nowadays, 90% of the games I'm interested in will end up in one of them sooner or later. I already have more than enough games in my library, so If I have to wait some months - or even years - for a "bundle discount", that's not a big deal to me.

i don't think there's anything wrong with sharing keys for extra games when you bought one copy of a bundle that includes games you already have. humble has often used combined keys, which means they need to work with steam to add those keys to the database and people can often find them before the sale happens. i totally understand their desire to only make the games available as a group and not just a bunch of individual keys to hand out or resell -- i've been paying attention these past few years and have seen the way people try to exploit free and cheap steam keys.
i think ideally they'd only let each person buy each bundle once, but that's impossible to enforce. i didn't buy this bundle because i already have almost all of the games, and the only one i truly want is in the $6 tier. if it had given individual keys that i could trade OR had the option to donate to eff i probably would have, and maybe i still will buy it since it sounds like you can unlink your account and have someone physically in the same place as you link theirs and redeem the others. so really, that's more shareable than the one-key-per-tier approach and doesn't leak the games through steamdb. i'm willing to give up the opportunity to trade extra games with others for less exploitation of indie games, and even the games that show up in humble weekly sales.

As a trader myself, I do get annoyed about the fact that the games I already had feel wasted on my account, but then I have to remember the incredible deal I'm getting here. I'm still paying much less for whatever I did add to my account than I would on the best Steam sale. It was always in their TOS so it's not that surprising to see HB find a way to somewhat enforce it. (I still managed to drop the rest of my bundle into my roommate's account who was more than happy to get a bunch of free games.)

It seems like they're still redeeming keys. We just aren't involve in that step of the process. They also say they can't remove games and that their only access is to add games.
Q: I accidentally redeemed my Steam keys to the wrong account?
A: Unfortunately once Steam keys are redeemed they can not be unredeemed.
The only access that Humble has to your Steam account is the ability to add awesome new games to your library
I'm a little mixed about this. I'm all for better bundle content, but how will this do that? People can still resell entire/partial bundles. They just can't do it on a key by key basis anymore. This is also a move away from multiple games-single keys, which is a huge plus. Before the duplicate games were lost, now at least someone else can redeem them.
On the other hand, this is like giving me a box of toys and telling me I can't handle any I already own. It is my possession, why can't I do as I please? And more worrisome is any potential abuse to my account. People always say that they can only do X or that only X is possible, until Y suddenly happens and the NSA was like, "Been there, done that."

I keep trying to redeem but Steam Login page cannot be displayed. I have tried four different browsers.

I like this change if this leads to better bundles. The only wrong thing that Humblebundle did wrong was not informing buyers of this new way of getting your games before releasing the bundle. If they announced it before the release, there would be less anger. I was annoyed that I had to link my steam account to my humblebundle. They only thing that Humblebundle got wrong is bad communication.

I understand it's in ToS, but what's the big deal if people trade/share keys they don't use? I mean, it's for charity right? They got the money for it....and sharing the keys is basically another charitable act. The only bad thing would be trading the keys I guess. All this digital media rights crap is getting annoying and something needs to be decided on it. IMO, it is a copy of the media, so we don't own the media; however, we own that copy/key and should be able to do what we want with it until redeemed.

I'd assume it's due to the fact that companies are afraid their games will lose all value when they make a humble bundle due to people that buy them in bulk and resell them after the humble bundle is over.

I don't get why everyone thinks trading a bundle key is a bad thing. Of course it's unethical if you're trying to sell it for $10-15 to unaware users on eBay and such, but if you have, let's say a $1 worth bundle with 4 game and you're asking for $0,25 or a little bit more (because you don't want/already have that particular game), that's a completely reasonable thing to me. I don't see how it would ripping off charity or anyone.

I don't even trade the key if I don't own that game on Steam. Even if I think it's a game I won't play I activate it. However what gets me is when it comes to games you already own. If Humble did something else, like give us money back and take the keys back to games we already own, or make the automatic activation only apply to games we don't own on Steam already, I wouldn't mind this new system.

Wow, I own nothing in this bundle. Thanks Humble! Bought the BTA.

You can still buy it as a gift link to give to others. But once you activate it, everything goes into your account regardless if you own any of the games or not.
It's something like those keys with multiple games on it. There is practically no difference.

Really? So how does it look when one would want to activate, let's say, 2 games on one account and other on second one?

I like it. super fast redemption :3 yay for laziness.. that copy paste method was so early-2013.. 2014 shall be the year of insta convenient redemption!

It's a new feature, documented here (you may need to agree to some stuff to get to Steam API documentation). Basically it uses OAuth to tell Steam that it's asking for permission to add games to your account for you, Steam asks you if that's OK, and then it gives Steam a key for the game to put on your account.

I guess I'm a bit late here, but it looks like the warning on the original post indicates that we will no longer get extra keys for games we already own. I'm used to Steam saying no extra copies if you buy a bundle that has something you already own, but I'm not used to it from third-party bundle sites. So it's kind of disappointing, especially if this change was instituted without warning, because in one sense we're not getting everything we paid for. It's not a huge deal to me because most of my extra keys are still sitting around unused anyway and I typically don't buy bundles that contain too many items I already own -- I pretend bundles with things I already have didn't include those, and decide to buy it (or not) based on whether just the games I don't have make the bundle worth it to me. I've seen suggestions that this change may result in better bundles, and if that's the case, it should be a good change overall. It's just too bad they apparently didn't tell anyone ahead of time that this change was coming.

After using it I like it, so much simpler then entering each key separate.
