If by original you mean the N64 version, then it might be re-released soon.

Interesting that they would chose to re-release that game. The original PC release of Turok 1 was not amazingly well received (it ended up in that awkward middle ground where all the "okay" games go that end up being mostly forgotten), probably due to competition being quite stiff for shooters on PC.

I would assume its to do with the ease of porting and the assumption that the nostalgia factor will push sales up enough to be profitable. Add in the current "add dinos to every game!!" fade we have to boot. If it somehow becomes a hit in anyway, they may be looking to continue the series and make a new game.

Honestly, the nostalgia factor just isn't enough to boost sales. A large percentage of gamers today never played the N64 original, and like you said there are so many dinosaur games out there so unless it added something significant to the genre it would probably just get lost in the crowd.
