how do you know if you've won?

this may be a silly question, but I was just wondering if there were some notification through the site when you've been selected as the winner of a giveaway. or is it just up to the person who is giving away the game to notify whoever has won?

I'm new here, so i don't know things.

A magical green dixie will appear and inform you of your winnings, if you have any, as you sleep.
I suggest you not to try to kill or harm said dixie if she does appear. Your life will be thrown in a endless well of despair and darkness. Those you love the most will be hurt, and you'll be driven to unreal insanity like no other.

This is when you mark the gift has received, but the things is how u know if u win the gift, maybe email the gift to the guy winner

Well the next logical thing would be to check your e-mail once you see this on your main page or even add the giveaway holder (since the winners are now anonymous) and introduce yourself
