It's a mix between ARPG (the Van Helsing series from NeoCore) and Tower Defense.

Actually the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing games already feature a few levels of Tower Defense.

They basically made a "spin-off" of the Van Helsing game, focusing on the Tower Defense elements, and improving and amplifying them.

It plays mostly like a Diablo-clone, with specific spots for a few tower types, with a few classes and the item-grind that nearly all ARPG lovers love.

You can actually specialize the character to focus more on towers or on the character itself. Like in Dungeon Defenders, which is also a hybrid tower defense.

Has online coop for 3 or 4 player, I don't remember.

It's a fine game.

EDIT: It seems they promised a few updates later, but the game seems to be abandoned by the devs, after the later Van Helsing entries and now their Warhammer in production... but they're still promising some updates it seems, just can't be sure if they'll ever make it happen.
