<--- completely disappointed by Diablo 3.

I played Diablo 1 and 2 religiously. After playing through Act 1 of Diablo 3, I don't feel the need to play anymore. It's not addictive as D1+2 were. Most I can hope for is them fixing the game with one of the countless patches they'll update with. Sadly, I think the damage is irreparable.

Diablo 1 & 2 + expansions were made by Blizzard North, which has disbanded several years ago.

The Schaefer brothers (co-founders of Blizzard North and the guys credited as part of the designers of D1&2) are now part of Runic Games, the people who make the torchlight games.

The designers behind D3 contain absolutely none of the people who created D1&2.

So uh, yeah... a bit off the mark about that pretender comment there buddy.

Comparing modern game design and ten-years old game design is invalid. If you were a good game designer once it doesn't neccesarily mean you are a good one now. There's a lot more thought put behind player's comfort and enjoyment now than it was before. For all we know they were a one-hit wonder and can only make Diablo 2 again. Which would be alright if the gaming industry haven't changed.

I was trying to address his 'pretender' remark, but I'm not sure how TL2 is a pretender... It's simply a game which happens to be in the same genre as Diablo 3

Hum. Who said anything about D1 and D2? TL2 is a "pretender" because because it's not nearly as good as D3.

Also who cares who makes the games? It's what they do that matters.

You're trying to pass your opinion off as fact here, whether D3 is better than TL2 is subjective.

And do you even know what pretender means? TL2 is a pretender for simply being a game of the same genre??
Where the heck did that line of reasoning come from? They're both ARPGs/hack 'n slash/dungeon crawlers, so what? does that mean that their shouldn't be more than one game in each game genre? Should the world be limited to only 1 game from each of the FPS, RTS, RPG, etc. genre?

Again, opinions.

Plenty of people enjoyed TL1 and there's quite a bit of hype for TL2, as you can see by steam preorders (and the amount of entries in the TL2 giveaway here on Steamgifts)

I'll admit I like TL1, but it could have been better, but I'm just absolutely loving TL2 atm (in the beta) even though from all the stuff the devs have to say, it's not quite what the finish product will look like.

Enjoyed it cause of the price.. Which is stupid. Buy less mediocre games and D3's price tag stops being so "scary". After all, buying plenty of cheap games can be more expensive and less enjoyable than buying less, more expensive ones.

Those Metacritics user reviews are mostly written by a bunch of idiotic a$$holes. They got over-excited by the hype, then they got "just the third part of the Diablo series", so they submit the score 0. BS!

No sensible person could ever give 0 of 10 to this game. I'm not saying it's perfect, but anything below 5 is pure trolling.

For all of you, retards, i have to point one fact - it was 4 days after D3 started and expansion set coming soon as first update will also. So, all of you, speed-runners, you killed your game by your own hands and brainless heads. Im enjoying every minute of game-play, every line of the script, every word, that comes from so many npcs in-game. Grind? You dont know what it is, its no 4 days and not even a month. New generation of gamers, pfff... it`s like impatience is this world new motto
