Hey everyone. Up for another crazy question?

I wouldn't be surprised if this question was already asked before (sorry if that's the case) because I usually ask myself this whenever I play a really good game. This time, it's Fire Emblem: Awakening that made this thought pop in my head again.

So yeah. If you can only play 5 games forever, what will those be?

Here are the side parameters to benefit the question:

  • This question only concerns video games. It doesn't include tabletop games (board games), physical games (like paintball), and etc. (Kinda obvious, but some might get confused).
  • Servers will forever be up for online-reliant games, however, the player base will still change according to its popularity.
  • Every bug will be fixed on chosen game/s.
  • Any game, on any platform is allowed.
  • You can mod your chosen game/s.
  • Feel free to add stuff to benefit your chosen game/s. (e.g. Check my Monster Rancher 4 choice)
  • Expansions are allowed on chosen game/s as long as the expansions require the base game to play.
  • To make things a little easier, announced games until the end of 2015 are allowed.

That's about it. If you think some parameters should be removed/ added, feel free to comment on it.

Here's the list that I came up with off the top of my head, in no particular order of preference.

  • Monster Rancher 4 provided that I get all the discs needed to unlock all monsters
  • Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
  • DOTA2 (I'm screwed if DOTA3 pops up. C'mon Valve, no need to work on those 3s.)
  • Civilization V
  • Portal 2 (maybe, I can't think of a good 5th choice)

There you have it. Thanks for reading and a lot more for answering :D

Planescape Torment - it's so complex and great and has such a great replayability that I can play it over and over. Finished it at least 9 times already :>

Morrowind - considering modding scene and how much content there is totally superrior to Skyrim - will keep you occupied for much longer :>

Diablo 2 - best time-waster ever.

Starcraft 2 (including Arcade mode) - only multiplayer game I would ever need :> And I get all your others MOBA's, turn based strategies etc etc in Arcade mode :>

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - Due to great complexity great modding scene and awesome random generation as well as AI you can never get bored with homm3.

Elder Scroll Skyrim Legendary (Fully Modded without CTD every 30 minutes :P )
Dragon Age 2 (This might sound weird to some, but the Tactics are wider than the first one. I don't play dragon age with micro management)
Stepmania (Burn that calories burn!!!)
O2Jam (Offline mode since the android ver suck)
Chivalry/L4D2/Killing Floor (I really can't pick between these 3)

I would get bored easily with just 5 games... I cant play the same game for more than 2 or 3 hours, it's just... boring ._.
The bindic of Isaac and Portal 2 are the only ones that come to my mind, all others are pretty boring and will die after some years.
