try?
To expensive for what it is to me.
My adblocker still works on YT, $14/mo in unreasonable to me to go actual ad free(I know its better for the creators.... but), I would consider it at 3-5/mo.
youtube music isn't worth anything to me, can always just load up youtube on desktop site mode in browser on the phone to listen with screen off. I also have ALOT of music(many days worth if I just let it play) I own(CD collection from childhood works great!), and edited out bad parts/long pieces of silence from, and some music from youtubers ripped from YT and all the intros//sponsorships/etc... edited out.
would rather pay for a service from a company sponsoring my favorite creators than YT premium(I did gfuel in the past, currently a factor75 subscriber(thinking I am nearing 10 months of a continuous subscription with them now), etc.

The thing is - by having youtube premium, you do support creators you watch.
Every youtube premium user has some kind of a "budget", which is then divided between content creators based on your watch time - if you watch someone a lot, they will get the biggest cut out of it.
You also don't have to pay $14/mo if you get some friends together for the family subscription.

while it does support the creators I watch more than ads do, which is more than ad blocked views, its all peanuts in comparison to utilizing their sponsors with creator codes, buying merch from the creators, giving them my twitch prime sub(whoever I watch most in a month gets my twitch prime sub).
I don't watch that many different creators on a regular basis and unfortunately the one family plan I would have a chance at getting in on is already at the maximum.

[Miscellaneous long sentences that do not need to be read]
If, by 2018, we are completely devoid of "good and evil," then the AI that the public often sees, like Bard, BingAI or ChatGPT, will be more powerful than the military's off-the-shelf computing devices and the fastest computers in the world, and will be able to analyze the information they store against the information they They would be outputting the results of their analysis.
How would it be in the best interest of their country to direct their citizens in each region of the world to display advertisements and recommended videos?
I would not be very surprised to see such things happening.
Even in the US, the act of throwing "Internet neutrality" into the trash was done when the Trump administration came to power.
There are also fake public comments springing up to push through excessive opposition and still those court cases are still going on.
...Now there is a lot of fear of AI in the street...
There are people called "V-tubers" who are often recommended for their videos, but it is easy for them to misrepresent their nationality or gender if they think of it as "such an industry or genre. It can also be said that it is easy to induce public opinion by synthesizing the appearance and voice of a person.
For example, in this age, you can record the voice of an ordinary person or a person you want to use for 10 seconds (e.g., pretending to be a wrong number on the phone), then call the AI and it will speak in that person's voice.
3 second? ok.. If you want it to look real, the longer the better.😈

With such content flooding the market, it is likely that we will soon be talking about censoring "people whose voices are automatically created by AI.
This will accelerate censorship.
What will be the result?
It will be like the earth becoming Chinese.
The economy and wars will also "misuse" technology and information, and we will be like a bicycle from hell that pretends to be over but continues the nightmare that never ends.

I don't use ad blocker, I also don't have yt premium
most of my yt watching happens on my phone app, so I see ads
p.s. not interested in choosing a game, thank you though

so you want us to pay to get no ads and a music service which isn't as good as the free option on Spotify - no thanks
edit: it says in the questions answered section that when you download a Youtube video you still need to use a browser or only keep it for 30 days offline so not a thing you can keep forever so even more pointless feature then

For iOS there is an app I use, it’s called SearchAce it’s an Adblock browser which works really well. You can even close the app and still listen to YouTube in the background. I think it usually cost 3€, but it’s worth it.
For PC Adblock and sponsor block, great stuff.
I paid for premium for a while, if you listen a lot to YouTube music I think it’s not a bad deal.
If possible I would request Bleep Bloop.

i've been a subscriber to YouTube Premium for the longest time. I don't know if i can ever go back to ADs. Yes, It's expensive but I share it with others in my household and I think we get our monies worth. I've also cancelled other premium music subscriptions and have been using YouTube music.
is Baobabs Mausoleum Ep. 1 Ovnifagos Don´t Eat Flamingos still available? :-) trying to complete that series

I watch YT enough that ads are an annoyance, so I do have Premium. That said, it's annoying AF and if I only watched YT on my phone or computer, I'd use an adblocker instead of rewarding YT for being scammers.

watch YT enough that ads are an annoyance
still have to understand it, most probably surely never understand how YT serves the ads. is weird as hell. same connection, same account but different profiles, my father gets flooded each and every video. i get a totally different treatment.
few days before joinin YT Premium it was delivering hella good ads. zero annoyance, 100% useful. (but always had a kinda special treatment from Google. have to say, my doors have always been open for G. wide open.)
also, would you give me few words why you're callin' them "scammers"?
(dunno if somebody has actual data, -i guess there's no actual data- but, from my experience, YouTube behaves differently if you are using an adblock or not)

They spam you with ads, thus creating a problem which they then charge you to provide the solution to (Premium). That is a scam. In other words, they create the problem and then charge you for the solution.

it probably is. always been proud. hella proud.
i once spotted a place Sergey Brin was on holidays. Galapagos islands.

he was impressed and answered me a in comment.
might be that. lol
edit: can find that pic. got a replacement, tho'

I'm using Youtube ReVanced on my phone and uBlock Origin on my desktop and I don't remember the last time I saw an ad there. Youtube likes shafting creators, the people who made the platform successful in the first place, all the time with their ridiculous ad guidelines so I'm gonna shaft them back with adblock.
Comment has been collapsed.
You shouldn't use combination of them if that's what you're implying. uBlock Origin is enough and makes the web experience lighter, not heavier. Also if you're using Google Chrome, it's just normal that uBlock Origin cannot work as intended there, you should use it with Firefox. Never seen ads for years, not even once on Youtube. There are also Invidious and Piped which are privacy-friendly frontends for Youtube, no ads there either.
By the way, not using YT Premium is not about money (okay maybe a little) but about privacy and how bad Google's privacy policy and their business generally. You give them your money, they still use your data to make profits. They just don't show ads on Youtube. It's not a fair deal.
