Looking for a tablet or ereader[preferably color] at a reasonable price, ~$90-$150. Mostly plan to use it for reading, but also internet browsing. Anywho any decent ones out there for my price range?

I'm not an expert when it comes to e-readers, but I know that Kindles are quite good, the best seller on Amazon or whatnot. Kindle Fire is capable of browsing internet & is colourful as far as I know.

Kindle can browse the internet. Oh, wow, I might have to pick one up myself, in that case...

The most advanced one, Kindle Fire if I'm not wrong. Not sure about its specs though, possibly some simple tasks like facebook, twitter, I doubt it can display high quality videos etc.

Actually, you can browse the web on the black and white kindle with keyboard! It sucks, but it is possible! haha

I would go for an Amazon Kindle, they have a fair few ebooks in your price range

For reading books e-ink is way to go. Though then the web browsing isn't too nice...

Archos have done some e-reader running with android which allow you to do all that, but the quality of the screen is not always good, you can dig it though.

If you live in Europe, can I suggest you the Txtr Beagle? It costs only 10 Euros (I don't know how much in dollars\pounds). It has seriously limitation (No 3G or Wi-Fi, no Touch Screen.) but the price is great and if you don't have so much money, it's the right choice. Obviously if you're interested in something "cooler" and with the functionalities of a Tablet, Kindle is the way.

Do you happen to know if/when they'll be sold in the US? I've seen a little bit about the Txtr Beagle, but nothing about possible US sales. I have a Kindle Keyboard and love my Kindle Keyboard, but at that price I'd love to have an extra reader available.

Sadly it looks like the company is trying to pair the device with cellphone providers before it goes on sale in the US. Germans know how to hold a grudge!

Boo! Boo! I'm sure someone will figure out how to hack it, at least.

As far as I know, you could just import it from Europe (uses 2x AA batteries so charging wouldn't be an issue) and there is already a US store for you to buy books from and transfer it to the device (this works via Bluetooth and a computer is needed). I think it would have been easier to just add a mini/micro USB port, but this is what they went with.

Importing it would probably raise the price by a considerable sum. Maybe there will be a cheap Chinese knockoff on Amazon in a few months with free shipping. Cheap Chinese stuff is awesome when it's halfway decent. ;)

I use a freaking HTC Desire mobile phone. I don't need those E-Readers. :)
Also I've heared that Amazon will have a new kindele in a few weeks/days. If you really want something for reading only, take it!

You are probably referring to the 4G version of the Kindle Fire. Either that or that it's coming to some EU countries.

For that price range your best bet is the Kindle Fire, hands down.

If you're on a budget get the kindle keyboard 3g. You'll have free internet (it'll be slow, but it'll be free)

Not just slow but very limited. I mean I have one (I bought three for myself and 'rents when they first came out and were called "Kindle 3") and I think I used it once to access GameFAQs in a pinch.

For awhile when I was moving, it was my only internet access. It's not the BEST internet, clearly, but you'd be surprised at what you can do.

Oh totally, just don't want to give the OP false hope. Honestly I am surprised that the service still works outside of Whispernet.

I mostly use the internet when I'm on vacation or outside the US. It beats paying $20 when i'm at a resort just to check email. The internet feels slower than 56k.

I thought about getting an e-reader but tried a mates and didn't like it at all, I prefer the tactile pleasure of an actual real book.

Kindle Touch owner here - love it to pieces. If it weren't for the fact that I got it for free (using freemyapps and swagbucks credit) I'd be a bit miffed that it dropped off the face of the planet with the new lit one.

Then again, if I had an eReader that I could read in the dark, I probably would and my wife would hate me. :D

Been really considering the Kindle Fire. Might go for the HD. A little more pricey, but the features it offers over the original seem worth it. That, or the Google tablet, I think it's around the same price.

I got myself a unused Blackberry Playbook from eBay for about 170$ - it's really an awesome tablet, the display is good, it's smaller than 'normal' tablets (probably as big as the new ipad mini) and is perfect for reading and browsing (especially the browser is good since it supports Flash, and by support I really mean playing Flash content fluently). It doesn't have the biggest Appstore since it's not Android, but it has a so called 'android player' where you can start android apps after conversion.
But all basic apps are too be found in the official appstore.
I also bought it mainly for reading (e.g. mangas, there's a pretty good app for that) and would definetely buy it again.

I would look at the Nook HD, Kindle Fire, and Nexus but they are all 199.99 I think, rumor is that Google and Asus is making a 99 dollar tablet soon. Not sure how true that is tough.
