So, I got this key from one of those giveaway sites, and I dont know what game is it for, but it seems I already have it.

So, to anyone reading this, here you go: W07Q7-0GW0A-X88DF

The key is for "Legend of Assassin: Siberia"
You can use steam's key activation page, it should tell you what game it is, even if you already own it or if the key is duped

Would've been nice by the person, who took the key to tell you, even though there is another way.

High chance a bot took it, sadly if the key is not encrypted or make into some sort of 'puzzle' bots usually take it within seconds :(

Would be a shame, but you might be right.

Thanks! I tried it with another key (got it in a trade but got an error message for already activated) and wanted to check if it was for the right game at least, but there I also only get the "The product code you've entered has already been activated by a different Steam account. This code cannot be used again...."
I might be blind, but where should it tell me for which game it was?
Sorry for a bit of off-topic, but I just read it and I've been thinking about how to handle it :)

I'm pretty sure it's not possible if you do not own the game and the key is already used. He's mistaken about that part.

If you own the game -> it will tell you what game it is, regardless of key status
If you don't own the game:

  • If the key is valid and unused, it will activate the key and tell you what game it is
  • Otherwise, you only get the generic error and are not told what game it is

That's only partly correct. In my experience:

If you own the game -> it will tell you what game it is, regardless of key status
If you don't own the game:

  • If the key is valid and unused, it will activate the key and tell you what game it is
  • Otherwise, you only get the generic error and are not told what game it is

I guess that's the reason I could see the name then, since I don't own the game either.
I do have the extension installed, but didn't know that was one of its features and assumed it was just steam's default behavior, so my bad there.
Thanks

I use this image-instructions (not mine) to check what game is the key for:

Hope it helps :) .

that's what I do as well, since I don't like extensions for browsers very much
