I just won deus ex:HR from my friend and i have never played the other games from this serie, so for the people who have played every game from the serie and even for the lovers of this serie, its important to play the other games before HR to understand all the history or it wont influence in nothing and i'll be able to understand it?

Story Wise:

1.) DXHR, first half (its till the part that you disappear for some 3 days or so )

2.) Missing Link

3.) DXHR, second half

4.) Deus Ex 1

5.) Invisible War

That is the chronological order, but I don't think that was the OP's question.

So in other words he is asking for the Chronological order; but i will answer it better

That's half the point, though. HR was done well enough that it has very few ties to the others in the series, making it a proper "no experience necessary" prequel.

Yes. Still, the first one is worth playing anyways. I think it's still a better game than HR, even though it's a tad bit outdated. The second one...well, it's just bad (Deus Ex 2, that is)...

There will probably be references and stuff you won't catch, but it is a prequel, so you won't miss any major plot points.

It's actually a prequel to the other games, but aside from a few references, you won't be missing much. I think you can get some spoilers if you want to play the other games afterwards though.

What spoilers? The only thing I can think of is identity of the original game's villain, but he appears in DE1's first cutscene, so it doesn't really count.

I can't really remember it too well, but I think some emails contained a few spoilers.

Not really. You can play this without knowing anything about the lore beforehand.

Have yet to play Human Revolution, bu when I start a new series with a later game being a prequel of the 1st one (like in this case), I usually prefer to start from the 1st game and go on.
Usually prequels are made both for new players and for returning ones so not too much of a problem, but it is often much better to start from an old game with old mechanics and go towards newer ones than the other way around.
