Are you in the mood for a bit of mystery?
Yes I think Mystery Bundles can be a good way to grow your library if you don't have many games. In my opinion games aren't that bad either you get from them. But yes if you have many games already I also don't think it's worth it (unless you plan to do giveaways for a (imo) relative fair price).
*the price for this VIP bundle though I find a bit high. (8,49⬠for 5 games..)

but growing your library is just a waste of money. I'm not even recommending them for a giveaway because it cannot be controlled what random game we get, so if it is a noCV, then money is wasted. For that money, I can buy Noita from Humble for myself rn or 8-10 cheap keys from any shops for giveaways.

Some people don't think so (waste of money). Some people just take every +1 they can get to grow their library. I was the same, collecting so many +1s from bundles etc. I stopped that eventually and now I only redeem games I find interesting, not looking on my library numbers anymore.
Yeah you're right, it can't be controlled. But at least you won't get trash games (in my eyes). Yes you can get 0 CV games, but wouldn't say it's waste of money, you can still give it away to make someone happy (hopefully :D) without getting something (CV) in return.
Many people also buy these for the thrills I think. And maybe maybe maybe they really hit the jackpot!? But yeah, probably smarter to buy a game you want directly than to hope for good games from Mystery Bundles, but like I said some people take everything to grow their library numbers. But I stay with my opinion, Mystery Bundles games aren't that bad (for giveaways and in general).

That's right, but it's like gambling, so it's hard to cut off even though I know that AAA game won't come out... XD.
I keep buying it little by little. I have to quit. I know it with my head......

It helped me stop when I realized that if I want to play every game from my library, and I only play 1 game per day, every day. That is still 10 years of content! That dopamine rush that I get when I activate a new game started to feel sour after a while :D

That's a good idea. Thank you for your reply. Have a nice day. :D

This is exactly the problem why good games don't sell well and also why these crappy bundles even exist.

I hate mystery bundles but how do they affect good games not selling well? Do you mean that they take away money that normally would have gone to other game purchases? I would say the people buying these bundles (and bundles in general) and the people buying "good games" at retail price are two separate circles. Clair Obscur sold over 2 million copies as an example. These mystery bundles exist more for the reason that gambling is an costly addiction that easily affects many people, same reason gambling/betting has infested every sport now.

yea if bundles like these vanished overnight... the increase in sales to everything else wouldn't amount to more than a change within the margin of error.
some of us buy them to gamble on stuff for ourselves and to pad the giveaway/trade keylists, some do it to resell for potential profit, some do it to get started on a game collection for cheap and so on.

VIP Mystery Bundle Ultimate Edition
5 mystery games for $7.99
14th May 2025 - UNKNOWN
Mystery bundle $7.99 for 5 keys
For mystery and gambling type bundles, I'm not going to post a list of games as the pool doesn't change much and with so many of these bundles on the go, it would turn into a second job (props to the GOAT, Lilly who actually did this). Feel free to post what you got though as an encouragement or deterrent to others.
