Don't Starve 2-Pack Question

I'm trading with this person and he says that his Don't Starve is a 2-Pack. But when I check it, the rollover text does not say anything about it being a 2-Pack. So, is this person lying? Advice/Comments?

I heard that when one buys Don't Starve, they get a second copy to share with someone. Though I don't think that copy multiplies... Hope it helps.

EDIT: Maybe the person is referencing to trading both the original and the extra?

You get your copy and then you get the extra in the inventory.
That's extra copy you get.
It's not like the ship, it's just a regular 'Don't Starve' gift.

No, you're trading 1 copy in 1.
Apparently there is a Don't Starve 2-Pack, but if you're certain that it doesn't say 2-pack then it's most likely not.
He probably thought it was something like The Ship where you get your own copy and then you get two copies in your inventory.

Everyone here says that it will be 2-pack .. but it doesn't need to be, it can be just the free copy he got from buying it, so beware.

No no, I'm saying that it is almost certainly 1 copy only. As far as I know, there is no way to gift 4-packs or 2-packs, whether you already have the game or not.

If you buy it as a gift it should obtain 2 copies of the game (when you gift it to someone the second copy should appear in his inventory) Atleast that's how it worked for other games.

I see. I checked on the Don't Starve forums and this is what I found out.

"Steam:
Purchases made through Steam are given 1 extra copy of Don't Starve unless purchased as a gift in which case both copies of the game will be found in your Steam inventory. "

So I think it might be 2 separate copies.

It's not 2 separate copies. I just won it in a giveaway and it was gifted to me as a single game. I activated it in my library and it spawned another copy in my inventory.

If they truly bought it as a gift, it will spawn an extra copy when you activate it. This is what happened to me on the giveaway I won. There's the chance though, that he or someone else already activated it and this IS the extra copy. There is no way to tell the difference. Just like The Ship.
