What do you want to have this Christmas?
Yeah, I play Fallout 76 a lot lately, like every day the past 4 weeks :D
It's surprisingly fun specially if you like the Fallout universe and aesthetics. Then I figured out the benefits of Fallout first membership but been hesitating to purchase it.

It's a lot better state now than it started. I've played it a couple of months back, and I honestly enjoyed it, just needed a break from it as it has a lot of MMO elements that I don't have the nerves right now to go through. I want to play a game and feel I finished it.

I started a year ago when it was free for a few days and it was good enough back then to have me buy it. Tho I stopped playing after a few weeks becuase other games won me over and there are not enough hours in a day to play all games. Around black friday I returned and am still playing daily.
Main quest is actually good and rewarded nicely. BoS quest is good but ends in a disappointing cliffhanger.
They keep adding QoL improvements and that means a lot. Latest update brought area looting meaning you don't need to run from corpse to corpse but can loot multiple at once. Also you can change pipboy color meaning if you put it on blue/white ish color you have a proper flashlight instead of the green hue :D
I thought I'd build my 2 bases (since you have 2 base slots free) but have difficulties with inventory limit so Fallout first is tempting for the stash box :D
Might end up buying it as a Christmas present for myself.

That is something you can't buy, but build. I'd recommend challenging yourself in the process. Once you repeat it for at least 30 days it becomes deeply rooted in your system. Be consistent and persistent early on and you'll get an easier time being disciplined.

A new PC, i have almost all parts "chosen" (except i'm not 100% sure about CPU-Mobo, althought i have some posible "combos", unsure about mobo for an Intel 12, but i think waiting for 12600 and b660 would be better) but GPU prices are crazy and seems they will be for a long time. I'm searching for PC giveaways to see if i'm lucky xD as i won't pay double the price of a 3060Ti (which is already expensive enough :D ).
Hope you can get your GPU at a decent price and soon ;) .

I got an i7-12700K as CPU and a Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4. I stayed on DDR4, as DDR5 is still a bit inaccessible and overpriced. I can tell you something that nobody else told me when I got the 12th gen CPU. Be mindful that with the new changes Intel came up, some games have DRM problems and don't run. Also, it appears that 12th gen doesn't fully run to it's fullest unless you run a Windows 11, or so I've head.
So all in all, making a decision to buy them may require you to be really careful what you're signing yourself for. I didn't know and I'm forced to wait for the games I wanted to play next because of the crashes happening and DRM problems. A fix is in place, but I'll only see it on my Windows 10 by the next year. 😅
Since then, I'll be playing other games I've listed that I've placed on my other thread.

That's actually useful, thank you ;) .
Yeah, i was aware of the DRM problems on old games, and, like you, i heard something about the need of Windows11.
In part i want to see how 12400 works as i think it will only have 1 kind of core, so, maybe, it should give less problems. Depending on how these turn out i will try to decide.... i'll wait until GPU go back to a decent prices so i have time xD .
Anyway, to play powerful-new games i think you won't have a problem and you'll have plenty of power for years. Hopefully they, at least on Windows 11, make old games work fine too.
Also, agree on the DDR4, i think DDR5 won't be worth it anytime soon.
Again, thanks for the tips ;) .

I got Windows 11 on a Virtual Machine and I will try to see if I can beef it well enough to run AC Valhalla from there. If that works, that may mean, that Windows 11 has a significant advantage over the DRM problem.
I don't know how to use a Virtual Machine yet as I just learned it, but I'm eager to test it out. It's the only way I can test other Operating Systems without having to install them on my computer and potentially break something.

Yesterday i thought i've read some motherboards allow to disable E-cores. Maybe you could try it and see how it works? You could reactivate it once you have finished the game.
That way you could forget about Windows 11 until they make it decent enough to jump to it.
Searching for "disable e-cores 12" showed some results, but not sure if you could do with your motherboard.

I am at a stage where I am trying to take some major decisions that'll effect my whole life. Recently took a very important decision related to my career (and I am still not sure if it was the right move), and there are a few more things pending. And all this thinking and analyzing and anxiety and doubt is killing me.
So, my wish would be somehow make this time easier, and me being able to make the right choices. Or someone kill me (jk).

It's still virtual. The point is that we can expect a few interesting announcements (like AMD's new CPUs), but this comes after the buying season. I'm guessing that's deliberate, to help keep people buying during the first part of the year, but it's still a little disappointing.

In my opinion, there's probably a lot more sales after Christmas, during January period because some people who worked during Christmas, start the year with a lot more bonuses. But again, there's a mix really about this and as you've said, there's a way of balancing how events go in between major events like Christmas, Easter, Diwali or Eid or whatever major holiday happens.

I want Final Fantasy VII Remake, but not for 80 Euros, that's for sure, so time to wait ^^
Merry Christmas. ♥

I am not needy for humans anymore. I could care less. Being alone, at least i am at piece. I would rather play games from my wish-list and enjoy.

Borderlands 2 Game of the Year. Heard its much more immersive than the first one and much more enjoyable.

So I don't have to replace a bunch of other parts, I'd be happy if I could just get a i7-7700K to update my i5-7400 since the i5 is apparently my biggest bottleneck right now. My MB won't accept newer than 7th gen but the extra speed and threads would make stuff smoother I'd hope.

Idk what is your financial status so I'd assume you're stuck with that, but wouldn't it be more ideal to get a new Motherboard that can support newer generations of CPUs? Even getting them used would get you a good deal I should think. I used to do that in the past and I can't say I've had issues.

Think about this being a letter to Santa. 🎅🏻
What would you want him to give you this end of the year as a Christmas gift?
I think I would go with the second option. An RTX 3070/3080 would be amazing so I can finally complete my dream gaming rig.
