Recently, thanks to the great Humble Telltale Bundle I played through Walking Dead. The game hooked me so much that I played Season 2 basically right after it. While I found 2 weaker than 1 it was still a really nice experience and I'd like to spend more time in that universe. So I'm thinking about buying Walking Dead Michonne.

I am not really sure about this though, One reason for that is the game time, wich is supposed to be about only 4-5 hours. This doesn't seem much for it's price. Even now, with it 30 percent off. One other thing that makes me unsure is that I've only played the games so far. I neither read the comics or watched the tv show (to be accurate I did, but only the first season. No Michonne there). Would you people out there who played it say, that one would be able to enjoy the episodes without any background knowledge about the charackter?

Would be glad about any answeres. : )

I'm also curious if it has any connection to Season 1 and 2.

I wonder if there really is that "no matter what you choose game does same stuff" shit as i read in some reviews.

Im sure it is, its true with both 1&2, 400 days allows a couple of different endings in the sense of how many people you can get to go with you. But your choices dont really effect any major story line changes. Everyone who's going to die, dies. regardless of which choice you make

In general, yes, but i was referring to same result for next action no matter what dialog line you chose, in wd1 AND 2 you had at least "extra" character for next episode if he didnt die that early. Like, ofc all storylines go in same direction, but i hate the simulation of choice being thrown to my face that obviously

I havent played it myself, but, all the Micchone backstory you need is, she was a mom, she had her brother and husband? (I think) as jawless walkers on chains when we first met her, she used them to get through the herds of walkers without being attacked. Thats really all you need to know about her. So I'm thinking the lore will have little bearing on the game.

Ok well I couldn't wait and just got and finished the game. So since nobody here answered (at least nobody who played it) I'll go ahead and answere myself. xD Maybe there are others who are interested in it.

So, back to my initial question if the game was worth the buy I'd say yes and no.
Walking Dead Michonne is an entertaining game that get's nowhere Season 2 or even less near 1. Because of the very short game time you don't get to know the charackters as well as in the other games. I mean I still liked some of them. Michonne seems interesting and with her cruel approach she build a nice contract to the former protagonists Lee annd Clementine. I also liked the crew she was traveling with. It's just that the emotional connection didn't get to deep and than it was over already.

What attrected my attention was that there's much more and harsher violence in this one. This may be fitting for the charackter of Michonne but I hope they won't rely to much on this in future entries to the series. Story should be the shocking thing. Not some cruel scenes.

But like I said, overall the game managed to entertain me good while it lasted and while it might be a little expensive but I don't regret to have bought it by now. I'm positive about that they give us something to bridge the time until Season 3 will be released plus I'm kinda interested in the comic series by now.
