So today I tried to open steam in the web browser (I do not do it very often) and did not work at first. And after a while, I found out that the reason was in HTTPS Everywhere and the fact that I use the option to block unencrypted queries.
So my question is when Steam has stopped to encrypt the connection to the store? Or I'm confused and the connection has never been encrypted?
I could not find information online and I wonder if any of you does not know anything about it.
Thank you and have a nice day.:)

But they have made this change recently, because I do think the connection was encrypted before?

Can confirm, justed checked and am confused. Maybe Gaben cannot afford the needed certificate ^^

Edit: some sections are encrypted, such as account section. So I guess, ordering a game is still secure.

Thank you for the confirmation, for a moment I thought I was losing my mind.:)
Probably they have some problem at the moment, or else I do not see any other reason to do that.

Edit: Yes and I noticed this once Purpur3141 mentioned it.

They don't use HTTPS in general, just on important/private parts such as account and purchase and so on. Most of the store/community is unsecured and people are complaining about it for years now but no change.

Yes i know about the complaints, but still I think they used HTTPS for the store before or at least I do not remember having trouble opening it when the mentioned option in HTTPS Everywhere is marked.
