SOLUTION

  1. The quote referred to Ernest Hemingway, and the "number of toes" hint referred to an unusual trait of a special cat in his care. Ernest Hemingway was given a white six-toed cat and some of the cats who live on Hemingway museum grounds now are descendants of that original cat, named Snowball.
  2. This question proved to be quite difficult for many people. But, as usual, it was possible to answer it without knowing anything about this particular musical piece. If you googled together multiple key words from the question (for example, waltz, polka, march, dogs, cats, pigs) this would lead to a Wikipedia article about the song. Multiple answers were acceptable for this question - I tried to incorporate as many variants of the title as possible (Cat's Polka being one of them).
  3. This question referred to the famous "Shrödinger's Cat" thought experiment by Erwin Schrödinger that involved a box, a vial of poison and a cat in a superimposed state.
  4. "Some go this way, and some go that way. But as for me, myself, personally, I prefer the short-cut," said the smiling Cheshire Cat :)
  5. Who could forget the wacky Felix the Cat?
  6. This question referred to Garfield! As he used to say "I'm not over-weight, I'm under-tall."
  7. Everybody loves Maru!
  8. Another difficult one. People were probably stumped because the cat in this question did not refer to an animal, but to a person with a 'feline' name. The quote was taken directly from a scene in a movie starring Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore.
  9. And another fake 'cat'! This question was referring to Caterpillar Inc., a company that specialises in heavy machinery and has also sponsored Ward Burton, Scott Wimmer, Dave Blaney, and Jeff Burton in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The prize for solving the quiz was the wonderful Petz Catz 2 game!

Hope you enjoyed the puzzle!

Original post:

Hello and welcome, my feline brothers and sisters!

Do you remember our fight against the evil dogs two weeks ago? Thanks to Corporal Mrow we were victorious, we got our gifts back, enjoyed our catnip, and those filthy dogs ran away squealing, tails tucked between their legs. But the war is not over yet! The dogs are back, and they are after our strategic tuna reserves.

Assume the role of the brave Corporal Mrow once again! Save our tuna from the dogs and kick their furry bottoms!

I am struggling at question 1 even though I AM 100% sure about the answer... Maybe I will just let it be... or perhaps you do not want those real answers

A lot of people were able to answer Q1 correctly already. Perhaps you are confused about whose name you need to enter? You need the name of the cat, not the human's name.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

in Q1 i entered all different names for that type of cat and it didnt work even human's name and last name, so wtf? :( what am i doing wrong? And Q2 is not clear enough, music looks familiar but not too much i doubt it has any connection with country where i live... help sleepycat

In Q1 you have to answer with the name of that cat, not the type of cat. The name given to him by his owner. That owner had a lot of cats, but there was one that was special in a certain way.

Q2 can be answered in a variety of ways, and in different languages. You can even answer it if you do not know that musical piece. As with every other question in this quiz, the answer can be googled using certain keywords from the question itself.

Nope. I was able to answer most of the question. But I'm currently stuck in number #1, #2, #4.

I'm not sure what you're expecting as an answer for #1. Tried many things for that one, and none of 'em were correct. The guy has too many cats and I don't have a list of all the names :/

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

True, he had many cats. But this one was special. There is a trait mentioned in the question that can help you google his name :) This particular cat was the first of his 'kind' in his owner's care, and he is not mentioned by name too often, but it's possible to find him ^_^

See above for a hint on Q2.

As for Q4, this one has roots in literature. Plus, he's special, too - how many cats do you know that can smile? :)

Ok, finally got #4. I had a feeling it's him. But I was being stupid and didn't even try answer it XD

I might need some time to figure out #1. As for #2, I think I'll leave that one for later. Thanks for the hints Sleepy :D
