Looking for a good RTS war game

Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour. My favourite game of all time :D

Try dawn of war 2 or other warhammer 40k games if you like rpg elements

Command & Conquer - I'd recommend Red Alert 1 and 2.

Age of Empires 2 HD - They did a HD remaster on steam that comes with all the expansions and they just released a new expansion for it recently.

Age of Mythology - One of my all time favorite RTS games and they are making a new expansion for it currently.

Total Annihilation - Incredible game from back in the day, you can get it for a few bucks. There are countless units/maps and mods to download so this game will keep you busy for a LONG time.

Company of Heroes 1 and 2. One of the best WWII strategy games you can find.

Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy - Top down view WWII RTS, very indepth. You can find demo's for CCIII and CC5 to try out first. They are amazing games. They have some newer ones like CC Gateway to Caen which is on steam. Highly recommended.

It's an obscure sci-fi RTS from the late 1990s. It is a bit slow-paced and has a bit of emphasis on base building and research, though.
