Yep, it's another dev confirming that the keys will be there and then saying that it's completely different game now, totally not the one people bought and voted for on Greenlight.

I tried to make a timeline:
8th of Feb. 2013 - Earliest update, promises of added features if the game is greenlit
6-13th of Dec. 2013 - Humble Weekly Sale: Multimedia Fusion 2
16th of Dec. 2013 - the dev promises the keys
7th of Jan. 2014 - the game is greenlit

So, the dev didn't get extra bundle sales from promising the keys, but he sure got some votes.

UPD:
Every bundle purchaser will get the key! Quote:

"Right, OK, here's what's going to happen.
Anybody who purchased the game on the Humble Store WILL get a key. They will get the game for free on Steam, and they will get the full Director's Cut version as well. Consider it a thanks for supporting my game early on.
...
I feel the right thing to do is still give people the Steam key despite the new features, so I will try to get the keys to all Humble purchasers in good will.''

It's hard to tell, because some people are genuinely sincere, but to avoid this kind of things, never buy something expecting other things than the ones put on sale in that moment. Promises and money doesn't work well together.

Well the devs can say "it's an enhanced version of the game" but we can point to examples like Will Fight For Food and Reprisal, which had overhauls of the games after they were greenlit yet they gave keys.

Your comments were the most coherent ones. Oh, it's a "totally" new game? Then you should re-pass Greenlight again, let's see who's going to vote for your "new" game after this. Pure logic.

I went there to write that myself and you save me the time and effort, so thanks for that.

I've been trying to arrange with Humble to get some kind of discount for people who purchased it, but I can't offer it for free anymore as it's been updated. There's no obligation to buy it again, but it is a different product, remember."

I thought deus ex directors cut is actually an older unpatched version of the game.

NEVER, EVER, buy anything on promises of it being better down the road. When you buy something, only buy it on its current merits from publicly available information.

Ok, there will be keys, cool. But what made you think there wouldn't be keys in the first place?

Edit: oh I see in the comments to that greenlight announcement. Guess he changed his mind, or is he only providing keys to bundle buyers and not store buyers, which would be weird.

Does this count to the people who bought the bundle? I mean I bought the Humble Weekly Sale: Multimedia Fusion 2 and it has that game
