Pink ribbons, and the colour pink in general, are most commonly seen during the (International) Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual health campaign organised by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness and raise funds to fight the disease.

Inspired by truck manufacturers and truckers from around the world, this October we are proud to be joining the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Awareness campaign! We’re asking the community to join us in supporting this great cause by delivering Pink Ribbon goods across Europe and the USA in our international Pink Ribbon Charity World of Trucks event.

To further help spread the word, we've created our very own Pink Ribbon Charity Pack DLC for this event. We will be donating 100% of our Pink Ribbon Charity Pack DLC proceeds to reputable Breast Cancer research and awareness charities, starting with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer. We hope that the list of charities we contribute to will grow as we collect more money over time.

Rules

Using external contracts, in Euro Truck Simulator 2, American Truck Simulator or both games, using a World of Trucks-connected profile, the community is to complete a combined total of 1,000,000 deliveries of Pink Ribbon goods using the provided Pink Ribbon trailer.

When a player contributes a combined total 12 or more deliveries of Pink Ribbon goods, drivers will complete their personal goal.

⏰ The event will be concluded on Sunday the 20th of October at 23:59 UTC ⏰

Rewards

Personal goal: Individual player contributions of 12 or more deliveries of Pink Ribbon goods will gain that player a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a unique pair Pink-Ribbon embossed, hanging Boxing Gloves as a Steam inventory item for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.

Community goal: Once the community goal of 1,000,000 deliveries of Pink Ribbon goods is met, and if the player has also achieved their Personal goal then they will receive an attractive pair of Pink-Ribbon-styled, hanging Winning Dice as a Steam inventory item for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator.

Note: All rewards are tradable and marketable Steam Inventory items.

Bought the DLC for ETS2 on October 1st... and as I also own ATS, I thought why not purchase the paint job pack for it as well? It's cheap and it's for a good cause. I completed my 12th delivery last night in ETS2 (yeah, I went slightly crazy with that) and was actually surprised to see that I could redeem the boxing gloves for both games. I thought I would also have to make those 12 deliveries in ATS to get the reward for that game, but nope. O_o That would have made more sense to me. But it doesn't matter. I'll definitely tackle 12 pink ribbon jobs in ATS too just because

That's nice of SCS... I mean, nice PR move. Still, at least a bit of money will go to charities. I do hope they will disclose how much they were able to raise with that DLC.

Saw someone on Steam asking if SCS would do the same thing for the prostate cancer awareness month... I asked Google and it turns out that it was last month. Ah well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe they'll do something special for Movember... That'd be cool.

That said, I wonder if Steam still gets a 30% cut when proceeds go to a charity of if they take less?

About the poll... I can't answer that. Both games are pretty much the same. No preference here.

At least this time the event is way easier. The previous event required you to have certain dlcs (not all dlcs worked)

I would guess they got a backlash from that... that was the Goodyear tire thingy, right? I didn't have any dlc's back then but I didn't mind, as the reward was pretty unappealing to me. So maybe people complained and this time, SCS made the community event available to all players.

Yep, it was the Goodyear event. I own a dlc but it wasn't unclided so they were encouraging buying the most expensive expansions

Thanks for letting us know.

I'd miss all the ETS / ATS events were it not for helpful SG members. :)

Really cool event. Will purchase the DLC and participate. So far I've only played on my girlfriend's account because we like trucking together :P but I'll purchase for both, it's a good cause.
And sure the PR helps just like when Ubi gave away money for the cathedral but hey if more corporations were doing good things for PR, that would be awesome. The people getting the money don't care one way or another if it was done selflessly.
