We are all men on the internet, lack of dangly bits doesn't change that.

This is the first picture I have ever really saved in hopes of reusing it in the near future.
For this, I commend you, DominusFerrus, a good day sir.

Dangly bits are gender neutral. We just have them in different places.

Never heard of the guy, but hey.. I'm pretty new to the community.
From what I'm seeing there is nothing wrong with the guy, ofcourse, I don't know what happened so I can't really judge it.
It does seem like a great loss for SG though, this guy seems like a great part of SG. I mean.. 9500$ worth of giveaways sent versus 600$ received? That seems really generous!
And he only seems to have positive trade feedback!
Nothing I can see about this guy seems bad!

The Permanent Suspension requirements are Using Multiple Accounts, Scamming Users or Misuse of Giveaway Feedback. Got to admit that what I know of them makes any of those hard to believe, but only Support will know.

Fake giveaway groups giving away expensive games they don't have.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's what it's for ?
I was thinking it was, for example, if your winner get the game but still mark it as not received, or try to blackmail into giving extra games for them to mark it received.
Comment has been collapsed.
It might, but fake giveaway groups are more common.
Comment has been collapsed.
To be clear, what you mean are small groups where the winners mark the games receveid, even though they don't get them, to boost their CV ?

It is a posibility. But also keep in mind that users can also be perma-banned for to many suspensions. It dosen't seem logical, but it is a posibility.
Comment has been collapsed.
Why wouldn't it be logical ? If you keep doing the same stupid shit over & over again, it makes sense that you eventually get permabanned.

I think he's a she. From what I recall the "monsters" are her children. Been Steam friends with her for a good time, and she seemed like a good person.
First added her to trade cards in the Steam trading cards group not long after cards came into existance and we've traded every so often since then. Stumbled upon her profiles on here, Tremor and Playfire although never really talked to her much.
This does surprise me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ehh, maybe her kids fucked up with steamgifts? Just a wild guess.
Comment has been collapsed.
dunno it seems the whole blacklisting thing really got to some people; they might have flooded support over it.
Comment has been collapsed.
I doubt it, and even if they did, it isn't worthy of a permanent ban.
Comment has been collapsed.
It was more the timing (as in blacklisting seemingly to enterfere with someone winning); not saying KoM did that, but the way things played out got some people going. From what I seen of the thread KoM actually explained things, apologizing for the bad timing.
SGift's discussions are much akin to /v/: lots of dislike for the corrupt/etc. So one seeming thing can cap off some sort of small disaster.
can't think of any other reason such a thing would occur.
Comment has been collapsed.
No rules have been broken (as far as we can tell) which would require a permanent ban.
Comment has been collapsed.
I do wonder what exactly happened as without some sort of statement, it raises questions and implications.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wow, this really is surprising. She seemed like a very valuable member. What could she possibly do to get a PERMAban ?
Comment has been collapsed.
This is very odd indeed. O.o
Has she said anything in respect to this or no?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm pretty sure there is an entire group of peeps that would be facing the chopping block if that was the case XD.
Comment has been collapsed.
I hope it's a mistake due to maybe her children using sg as well and some system recognising it as "using multiple accounts" :(
Comment has been collapsed.
This is 100 % true, same thing happened to my pal when his brother made a SG account. Permabanned both of them, without a chance to explain, while ticket is open for almost a year. Typical example of how mods abuse their power.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not power abuse, but you would think that a ticket to require getting unsuspended would be handled pretty quickly, especially if it is a permaban.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't believe in that. There was a time that I was suspended because i didn't activated some games, since i was on vacation, and forgot about them, the only thing i could do was reply to the ticked about the suspension quoting that i already activated the game. This suspension thingy happened twice for the same reason. In matter of a couple hours i would get unsuspended. Since then I've been more careful, dont want users to think i wanna trade my wins or something. And its because of this I believe that the perma ban the user is talking about maybe it was deserved and the "proof" was bullcrap, thats why it wasnt adressed anymore.
Comment has been collapsed.
Which just proves that mods have double standards.
Comment has been collapsed.
they are two completely different rules (activating games and multiple users from the same household), it's your responsibility if another person in your household is going to make an account that you notify support BEFORE it happens, obviously if you say "it's my brother" after you get suspended it's going to sound a little hollow, not quite the same if you activate the gift after you get suspended.
the mods are volunteers here and do the best they can, they deal with lots of bullshit from greedy people trying to bend the rules and get around them however they can, I don't have any sympathy for your pal and his "brother"
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't see any reason for anyone to notify anyone else for using the same IP. :(
In fact, there's no rule about it and if there was, that would be absurd ! It's 2015 for god's sake, all people are connected! my wife uses the same IP, also my nephew steals wi-fi access and his father too. That's merely four people in one IP. From where i stand, as long as everyone has its Steam account validated, they're good to go.
Let's not start a witch-hunt for innocent and lawful people here. If we (or support people) have so much free time to spend, let's report those regifters, those who don't activate their gifts, those who start fake giveaways every other week. Ah and finally let's ban all those with private steam accounts, especially those who don't accept invites and nobody can tell if they activate their gifts or sell them for $.
Priorities, right? ;)

Only 3 volunteers have access to these ticket queues. Where would you start?
Cries of power abuse, double standards, etc are ridiculous. There are simply not enough volunteers for the workload.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh wow, I didn't think the volume of tickets was that bad. Thanks for all the work you guys do for us.

I doubt permabans happen accidentally. They do a lot by hand here, so humans have to make decisions and process it accordingly. I'm going to assume we just aren't privy to the whole situation.
Comment has been collapsed.
That doesn't mean mistakes cannot happen, humans make errors too.
One of the reason for permanban is using multiple accounts, and I know that she has children, so it could very well be that one of them used SG with his own account, and since it was with the same IP it was considered multiple accounts.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I agree. This thread should probably be closed.
The permanent ban was for a reason, and this thread is pretty much a whichhunt.
Comment has been collapsed.
Really. This thread is most certainly not a witch-hunt.
Comment has been collapsed.
When it reaches the point where people spam the user's profile with comments asking for an explanation, while other attempt to investigate the user to determine what was the reason of the ban... It's pretty much bordering witchhunting.
Then again, who am I to say anything on the matter. Support will take care of this thread if it's inappropriate.

I was just browsing through SG people's profiles to build up my original whitelist after my last event and the temporary one when I stumbled upon KeeperOfMonsters' profile and discovered that "permabanned" tag.
I'm shocked!!
The last post from her was 17 hours ago, so this is still fresh it seems. I always noticed her as a very valuable and active member of our lovely community here. I can't believe this. She can't even say goodbye. Anyone else sharing that feeling?
(I hope this thread is not perceived as calling out, if so let me know, I'll close it, but I had to express my shock somewhere).
