Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah.

Mama, i am coming home.

One can only imagine the state of his health during that last concert, but he did it anyway. Don't really like his music, but the guy definitely deserves tons of respect.

We had an 80+ year old singer called Rob de Nijs also with Parkinson who did a farewell tour.

You can see them both having to sit down, trembling, but the voice, their voices are still there.

I celebrated my birthday with my parents today, with the soundtrack mostly being Ozzy's farewell show. They're not full-on metalheads the way I turned out to be, but Sabbath made a big impression on them as kids in the '70s and '80s, and Ozzy's music with them and solo is one of the few things where all three of us can find common ground. Super sad to hear of his passing, but very grateful I got to enjoy and celebrate his work in the present tense one last time like this.

I'm constantly in awe of how pivotal those first six or so Black Sabbath records are; really feels like these guys ran through 80% of all the great riffs that would eventually be recycled by other groups. I hope the massive tribute show made him realized how beloved he is by fans and peers alike, and as if passing away right after the biggest metal extravaganza imaginable wasn't metal enough, them raising so many millions of dollars for charity for damn sure is. RIP.

Just read about it after coming home from an annoying day at work.
Very sad.
Rest in peace, good sir. And thank you for sharing your gift with the world.

End of an era. I feel like Ozzy was hanging on to give everything he had at that last performance...and then, once it was over (and awesome), he was able to just let go.

RIP, Ozzy.
