All i want is a better discounted viscera cleanup detail

Ah, I see, I'm not the only one disappointed. It was my 1st summer sale, everyone was just like "oh summer sale, great, will buy millions games", but I can't understand why they were so excited... I saw much more better discounts in the middle of week or at the weekend, not while the summer sale. I missed time when cs go was 80% off.

Objectively wrong. Many games are on 'sale' for higher prices than they've been on sale for in the past, and obscure older/indie games have been almost entirely pushed out in favor of bad sales on early access shit that might not even get finished.
Want King of Fighters? Sucks to be you. Want a Ys game? Sucks to be you. Want Recettear? Sucks to be you. And so on, and so forth.

how do i want the world to satisfy me because i find a steam sale boring, what you are saying is irrelevant
1, prices are higher
2, Some games are not reduced at all and imo they should be.
3, Many people feel the same and only a select few see it as whining, mainly because you have nothing better to do

Well, steam is a distribution platform, it has no obligation whatsoever to have any sales in the first place. So I'm sick and tired of people complaining about stuff which is merely a courtesy of Valve. Even more so when people like you with too much money on their hands complain that the games you don't have aren't on sale. How dares Valve not reduce the games you want. Insolent, really!
About your second post: I bought three games this sale, two of which to give away. The sales don't really interest me, but unlike you, I don't feel entitled to better sales, or sales at all, so I don't go around saying: "omg, sale suckz lol. just my opinion, is free internet, if you disagree, go away." (you didn't say that, but that's how it sounds to me) And why you, with your 1.7k games even would want new games is beyond me.

So I already own Morrowind, Recettear, Agarest, Call of Cthulhu, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Dreamcast Collection, King of Fighters, Ys, etc. Glad to know that I own all of these somehow, and that is why I don't like this sale. Oh wait no, I still don't own any of them, I wonder why.....

OK, I will add one more line to that PSA, warning, all caps incoming.
THIS IS NOT - STEAM: THE ENTIRE CATALOG SALE - THIS IS JUST A SUMMER SALE, ONE OF MANY.
(Also pls note, Recettear and the Stalker games are at 75% basically at every sale, you are just unlucky they are not atm. Cthulhu the same, it was also in multiple bundles. I've seen many pretty good sales, like that Prototype 2 75%, Payday 2 80% hmm? not good enough? and there are 100 and 100 and 100 of games on sale every minute; you really shouldn't list a couple of game which are not on sale.)

Okay so i should care about all the other games that I don't really want rather than being annoyed that the only ones I did want have not been on sale? Okey dokey then. Well anyways, I'm just glad that there are so many repeat sales like FTL The Swapper this year instead of new games going on sale.

Well I've got some decent titles already but I'm still keeping my eye out for any sweet deals. I will admit that the sale does look a little bland at times, but you've got to check the under $5 and under $10 sections regularly to see if there are any steals. :)

Still waiting for oblivion to go on a 75% discount.

Same. That's all I've been waiting for since my last purchase in the sale: Dark Souls. Now I've pretty much given up hope that we're going to get that, and am waiting for the Mass Effect 3 N7 Digital Deluxe that I got for $5.99 [thank you coupon, GamersGate] to finish download.

I've made a reasonable amount of purchases, but there are a few things that could have made it better for me,
1) I miss not seeing publisher catalog/bundle packs.
2) EA related titles missing due to Origin.. pffft.
3) Not that many recent Titles released i've been particularly interested in, most i have on my wishlist (that are already released and not just being 'watched' while in Early Access) would need to be more heavily reduced for me to purchase. Think the last qtr of year has more releases i've been waiting for.
4) To many small discounts on Alpha/Beta products in early access of which i'm wary of purchasing.

Not entirely true on #2: I've seen Mass Effect 2 and The Sims 3 stuff up, and they're EA toys now.

The reason people think "these sales are boring" is because you thought the previous sales were great.
Do you get how this works?
You already bought most of the games you really wanted on the previous sales
Rather than grouching about the sales, it might pay to realise that you're gradually narrowing down your wishlist to expensive / new titles, and ultimately have a smaller pool of games you wish to buy, because you already bought a ton of them in previous sales.

They're "pushing" the games that have been getting the most interest. They've also added more variety than in previous sales by adding both random flash and flash-voting sales on top of the dailies. Right now your complaint basically hinges on "This isn't as fun as the other sales, because unless it's on my wishlist or a featured sale, I have to go looking through all the discounts myself". When really you'd have to do that anyway, no platform can psychically predict what games you don't know of and would like, man. They have a 'recommended for you' and 'other people bought' section, as well as tags for games. What else do you want? :P

read the entire thread, i know they are pushing the most popular games, to make money which is the aim of the game for them, its a business after all, all i have said is thats its boring for me, what do you guys think.
as for what i want, maybe for some games that have never been on sale to go on sale, less focus on cards an more FUN to it as its not interesting at all, as i said im usually really excited by it all and this time is a massive letdown, this is my opinion and in no way shape or form am i moaning but i am expressing it to a steam community and asking for their own opinions to see if i am the only one who is feeling like this.

Read the entire thread? A 130 comments about how people find a sale boring? Haha, noooo thanks.
Steam can't put items on sale below a certain mark, as they have agreements with the developers, so they don't have total control over this. While the event wasn't exactly a gigantic barrel of laughs, you have to remember that this is still a sale we're talking about here. There is more 'game' in this sale than previous ones, so really I don't understand what you were expecting. After so many sales, you have to realise your excitement will naturally dwindle as you own a larger pool of games. The only other way would be like they did it in a previous summer sale, where you earned tickets by completing achievements in games you owned/bought, but people complained about that being a cheap money-grab (though it netted me a free game and a pair of those shades for TF2).
People are often disappointed or enraged over the silliest of things. Even if you felt like murdering someone because of a slight inconvenience or disappointment, you're probably never the only one in the videogaming fandom. That's just the kind of group we have floating around :P

I actually bought quite a few games, including one of my most wanted: Dishonored GOTY Edition.

i Agree man, this Summer adventure thing is so bad, ..,especially when we're talking about big company like valve, instead of doing something that all the community benefit from, they choose nope .. give only to 30 lucky people out of thousands :( ,what GoG done was much much better, all i see here is, Valve putting a bite of winning 3 games in your wishlist, thousands crafting badges, Valve benefiting like hell from all those purchases in the community store, and that it .end of story, it was all just business no fun, no good will, just another way to make money out of thin air
