Here's the imo best guide on world tendency (and please note that that's different from character tendency which is also a mechanic).

Basically you are out of luck and will have to deal with it in NG+ . It's an interesting but ultimately slightly frustrating mechanic (like Demon Souls is famous for). One of the reasons why is that dying in human form pushes the tendency to black, and since killing the bosses (which pushes it to white) also gives you a free human form (add to that most people use human form for the bonus HP) it undoes most of that effect unless you die elsewhere like the Nexus. And the game doesn't make any of this clear.

There is another way through connecting to private servers, and I know the big one (Yuvi's) occasionally rotated the world tendency event so you could log in and out repeatedly to push it towards whatever pure world tendency the server was set to, but the status/event site listed here in the comments is down right now. You might have luck finding one or possibly setting up your own.
