People here aren't so sure. I certainly loved all the Bioshock games, so if you found the combat in 1 and 2 boring, it's probably not going to be too much different for Infinite. Definitely watch a playthrough on YouTube though, because the story is top-notch as always.

Because it's a boring hack'n'slash people seem to treat like the greatest game of all time. I can understand their fascination with the music, presentation, graphics and maybe story gets more interesting in time, but for me a 8-10 game in a 10-grade scale needs to have at least good gameplay. Bastion is just a plain, uninteresting button masher. Since playing it I avoid every indie game like fire, because I'm afraid it will be the same story- dull game that received way more praise than it deserved because it was made by a small studio/one person and is "innovative" in some way.

People should rather rely on their personal opinion about a game they played rather than on the opinion of some random people (who might be eventually paid by game companies to write good reviews)

I hate all the AC's. Templar illumnazi crap in a virtual reality setting?? Urgh.

Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. It's not that I hate them or think they are bad per se, but what those games were about is infinitely more interesting than the actual execution, which fail to live up to what was promised in their respective promotional and concept materials. In fact, I'd go so far to say that Bioshock 2 is the best game in the franchise, and the only one that I would consider 'fantastic'. That game's gameplay is genuinely awesome, being a definite improvement on the first and demonstrating how badly dumbed down the sequel was. And while its story isn't as high-concept like the other two, it was just as thoughtful and delivered much more competently.

Killing Floor, possibly the game I hate most in my library despite it having a reasonably high metascore and a lot of people talking as if it's some masterpiece; I personally think it's a piece of rubbish.
Call of Duty BO2, no idea about the other games, but a couple of hours on BO2 made me decide that I'm definitely not buying the next piece of rubbish Activision pumps out in the CoD series, I'll stick to Battlefield thank you very much.
Frozen Synapse. Despite normally being delighted by strategy games, this one completely failed to impress me at all, I really don't think it's deserving of 85/100.
Psychonauts. Didn't manage to get through the first level before I started getting CTDs every time I got to a certain point. Bonus hate because I didn't like the way the game looked either.

On Psychonauts, were you playing Steam version or retail? I haven't got a single CTD yet...the art style is unique and I rather liked that, but I have to say it is quite weird for the sake of weird. I really do insist you give it another shot, you never know what you might find.
Totally agree about the others.

The Steam version. I honestly have no idea what causes the CTD, in fact I'm not sure whether CTD is the right acronym for it. It kind of completely freezes my computer over so I have to hold the power button down because it's otherwise completely unresponsive, think it was on starting the "Braining"?

Hmm, very weird. I'm not the best at troubleshooting so I won't even bother leading you on a wild goose chase ;P
To be fair, it might be a good thing like that, because the final level of the game is possibly the most difficult thing I've ever done in gaming ever, and almost made me regret the entire 10-20 hours I had poured into it so far.

Psychonauts is amazing, I praise anything Tim Schafer
Call of duty since no 2 has all been downhill
Killing Floor, I tried it once solo, got raped, no idea.. seems like a bad version of one of those counter strike / hl2 mods with zombies (of which there are scores).

Any Call of Duty post-World at War, but before Black Ops II. God, the only one in this part of the series I thought was not-that-bad was the original Black Ops. Modern Warfare 2 & 3 can go die in a hole. Especially MW2. No dedicated servers? Multiplayer not working 99% of the time IN A MULTIPLAYER-BASED GAME? This series already had me on its bad side, this two games just confirmed it.
(Vanilla) Fallout 3. I love the Fallout series. I really do. But THIS...THIS...THING is NOT Fallout. This is what an executive at Bethesda who never played the series thought was Fallout. The storyline is bloody linear for a Fallout game. Hell, they're missing quite a few core concepts of the original Fallout games, such as traits. The only reason this isn't one of my most hated games is because of modding, one of the saving graces of Skyrim that manages to keep it off this comment.
DISHONERABLE MENTIONS: Half-Life 2, Saints Row: The Third, ArmA: Cold War Assault, Metro 2033, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Tropico 4, The Sims 3, and DayZ.
I know, DayZ. What? The reason I did not include these one the list are because...

Probably none. Don't get me wrong I don't love a lot of those games and some I just think they're okay but I find it hard to hate or loathe any game in the first place. There's a lot of overrated, over-hyped games but that doesn't mean it's garbage.

Although Fable: The Lost Chapters is awesome(for me). The only one worth of. Never saw Fable 2 as theres no PC version.

I must be shortsighted or something, I can't think of any game I out-right loathe. I just seem to find the stupidest ways to enjoy any game :P

For me it would be
BF3\COD\HL\TES ( don't hate just overrated )\ Portal 2 ( overrated )

I agree with you about Portal 2! I bought it recently (after playing Portal years ago), and the dialogue and story are maybe interesting, but near the end, I was getting really frustrated at how boring and repetitive all the puzzles were, and how rare any dialogue from any of the characters was.

Skyrim, it just does nothing for me. I don't know what it is, but it just feels dull, and I cannot sit and play it for longer then 15 minutes. Then there is also the fact that when I state my dislike for it, all my friends tell me I am an idiot. But that is my opinion.

People are probably getting tired of me posting threads, but things are getting interesting and you're all interesting people, so here I am shamelessly ripping off somebody elses idea.
Boffo97's Games you love with low Metacritic scores thread got me thinking, and I have a bone to pick.
So, without further ado, what's the game that reviewers/everybody loves that you particularly hate, and why? Try and get games with a score of 80+.
My rant (feel free to ignore):
I absolutely hate every single Need for Speed game after the original Most Wanted. ESPECIALLY the Criterion ones. I would rather play ProStreet than be forced to go through the new Most Wanted's clunky handling, moving-brick-wall cops and dull voice acting over again.
With ProStreet, EA had reached a peak with Most Wanted (Carbon didn't do as well and nor should it), then A) tried to reach a market that Need for Speed didn't cater for (realistic GT simulators) and B) focused more on graphics so they could sell the game with eye candy. And I suspect in the wake of that, the few sane people at EA Redwood, later to become Black Box Studios, quit and left the rest of the team to fumble over some poor ideas for new games which have never reached the height that MW did. And now EA thinks that pulling Criterion off the Burnout franchise (REMEMBER, EA OWNS BURNOUT! CRITERION SHOULD STILL BE MAKING THE AWESOME BURNOUT GAMES) will inject some "new life" into the NFS franchise, when all they're doing is tazing a dead horse.
