So I've just written a wall of text about a game I recently played and weirdly enough I can't post that review. "Post Review" button just does nothing at all. Was that button supposed to be white-blueish anyway? I remember it being green before.

Already tried logging off and copy-pasting the review again, but it did not solve the problem. Does anyone else have this issue or is it just my Steam being derpy again? Is this related to Steam's new policy about games not bought on their store or something?

Haven't tried submitting a review recently, but the button is the same colour as usual (yes: white-blueish).

If you're on Steam client: Try posting it through Steam in web browser.

Tried posting both through the client and my browser. None worked, the button just disappears once pressed and the review sits there, but does not appear on my profile and is gone if I go back to the store page.

must be steam-community having issues ... tried editing a review a few days ago > didn't do jack but no error message +
elsewhere error message > tried deleting same, did nothing or gave an error > checked the next day > it got deleted
... best just wait and try again later/next day

Probably the best thing I have to do for now :/

I experienced that with my first and only review. It didn't seem to want to post. Seems to be when the review is fairly long, what you can do is post a small review and then copy-paste the long review after it has been posted.

This did the trick. Thank you!

You're welcome, I'm glad it worked.

There are some games I simply have never been able to submit a review for, whereas some other (majority) of the games accept them without issues. Haven't found any reason for that.

There are issue with steam but recently I was still able to submit some reviews.

I'm having the same issue. The problem seems to be that the link to which the form submits returns with an error code of 403 Forbidden:

> POST http://store.steampowered.com/friends/recommendgame 403 (Forbidden)

This is especially frustrating as I just deleted my existing review of the game in order to post the new one. I'm searching for a workaround now.

Edit [SOLVED]: Try writing a very short, temporary review, then editing in your actual review from the review page. My ~3700 character review failed to post, but a short one worked, and I could just edit the long one in in its place.

It worked, thanks! So basically Steam encourages us to write those stupid 10/10 IGN herp derp one-liners instead of actually analyzing the game. Way to adapt the product to their customers I guess :/

I guess it is Steam fiddling around with the review system again. So it is probably a time limited phenomena. But something seems to be happening as I have lost two votes on one of my reviews. As far as I know it is only possible to change from up to down or vice versa not removing a vote. Maybe this was changed with a recent update as well.

Can you try posting just one word as a review, then editing in your actual review afterwards?
Sometimes I use this as a workaround if my review is rather long.

EDIT: Should have read the whole thread before posting, silly me.

That method did work. Thank you as well.

Weird, I submitted my review of Elliot Quest like 5 hours ago with no problem

Do you have a good amount of time on the game?

I had around 15 hours into the game when I first wrote the review, but apparently the problem was the review length :/
