Just adding a decent gpu would make your rig roar like beast, if your PSU can support it.

Most likely, you will also need to purchase a new power supply when buying a powerful graphics accelerator. I recommend that you pay attention to the new graphics card from AMD - R9 290X. The performance of this card is only slightly inferior to the most productive single-processor graphics card from Nvidia - GTX780Ti, but much cheaper. If you decide to buy a graphics card AMD R290 or R290X recommend to wait for the sale of cards with non-reference cooling systems. These cards will appear in december 2013 or january 2014. The reference cards that are now sold in stores, have noisy cooling system.

If your psu can handle it, Amd R9 290 would probably be the best choice performance wise, followed by slightly cheaper and weaker GTX770.

Intel Core I7-3770 - 266,05€ //// Asus Radeon R9 280X DirectCU II TOP 3GB GDDR5 - 287,26€
Total: 553,31€
Or you can just buy a new graphic card.. Ram don't need to be upgrade.
Asus GeForce GTX780 3GB GDDR5 - 486,00 €

+1, Best card out there at the moment, beats any Nvidia card by miles, but I would also recommend waiting for a better version of it, like the Vapor-X Edition from Sapphire

agree. reference card ussualy are weak. wait for something like a superclocked edition.

Ok, so I will propably buy the AMD R9 290x, but does the fact that I have a GPU from AMD and anotherone from Nvidia affect preformance in anyway?

So... do I have to remove my geforce GT 530 then?

If you're gonna get something around the price of a 290x, I'd strongly suggest either waiting for people to start putting aftermarket coolers on their cards (the reference cooler is horrible, especially for a GPU that overclocks based on heat), or get a gtx 780.

Upgrading an intel i7-2600 to a 3770K would be stupid as fuck. Once since the performance is about the same, secondly since there's no option for overclocking on that OEM-Mainboard.
Keep the i7.
I'd recommend you a new power supply. BeQuiet Straight Power series with 450 or 480 Watts. Or a similar, silent, Gold-efficiency, MULTI-rail power supply!
As for the graphics Card - just look at the benchmarks sites provide. There's LOADS. Interesting options would be the GTX67, GTX770, GTX780 with the recent Price drop, HD7950, HD7970, R280X, R290, R290X (though you'd have to wait for the 290 and 290X to be available in custom designs since the reference fan is crap!)

I have my pc for quite a while, but I want to upgrade it.
why? because the newest games can only be played on the lowest settings.
OS Windows 7 home premium x64
system model: MS-7707
Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8GPUs) ~3.40GHz
GPU: GeForce GT 530
Memory: 8 GB RAM
I want to spend between €300 and €500.
please let me know what you think.
EDIT:
So I now know I need a new GPU, any suggestions which one?
