I'm getting low on blacklist space, have to go through several hundred people to remove all those forever banned from this site. 6 on the first page alone. :P
Now we have a script to help with this :)

Just bumping this because my blacklist is at the threshold.

At a guess, anyone who's not at 1:1 or better ratio.
You know I hate people, right?
Only way to become a Sith Lord!
You can hate sand instead.
True..... But chocking people Darth Vader style is so much more fun!
The statement was tongue-in-cheek, but, well, things get lost in translation around here unless it's made more obvious.
Check it like Delta did, he freed 200 slots yesterday.
bump cause you made me chuckle :)
plot-twist: I'm on it.
I'm on your steam friendlist I mean XD
Blacklisted for talking about blacklists! :p
This thread reminded me to check mine again. After a massive prior cleaning I had only 17 on my list this time. I was able to remove 3 because of permanent suspensions. I had 1 tagged as a "beggar" and the other 2 had blacklisted me for some reason so I returned the favor. Out of them all I found these 3 to be the least likely ones to be permanently banned for something but what do I know? There are also 3 left serving suspensions so it seems that I'm blacklisting the right people at least.
383 on the whitelist though. Some of you need to stop being so nice and generous before I run out of room!
Or permabanned people shouldn't count to the BL limit.
Edit: Thanks to Zomby2D that figured out why it was flashing now it's fixed and you can download the v0.2 from the same link. It also fixes a bug in which some users who had only temporary suspensions would show up, so it's suggested you download or update to this version if you are planning on using it.
Thanks. I'll give it a try next time I need a clean (I just cleared out over 200 yesterday, no more suspended to test with)
Sure, I just updated my first comment with a screenshot of it working. It basically goes and checks every profile and then adds a red warning to the side in case the user is suspended permanently or banned. Let me know if/when you try it there is any problem.
Works on my first screen, but since I have another script installed, it doesn't work on the screens after that since they all load as one page.
Yeah, this is just a quick thing I made, wasn't really made to work with any other scripts, so it won't work with any endless scrolling feature from other scripts. I suggest just disabling the script that adds that feature while you use mine to delete people off the blacklist.

I will need more info if you want me to help you. First, let me know what browser and what other scripts are you using. And then check the console log to see if there are any errors. Could also be that simply no one in your blacklist is permanently suspended or banned. If a person is just suspended for X time it won't show up.
Well, Delta was just asking for something that would tell you who is permabanned, so I didn't bother making different texts for different cases.
Works, but it makes the page flash 5-6 times as if it is refreshing (but the entire page does not refresh).
Well, it's requesting every profile page on the background and checking to see if the user is suspended, so that's probably why the flashing, I haven't really looked much into it, I didn't plan to make this a full-fledged script, just something quick that would tell you who is banned/suspended. It works and the flashing is just a mildly annoyance so I didn't look into it as I said ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OK, that makes sense. I am impressed you made it so quickly. Thanks for saving me time checking each blacklisted user! :D
No problem, I'm glad it's being helpful.
Thanks, this is useful. I just removed 20 banned users from blacklist. At 395 users I'm anywhere close to hit the limit. It's going to happen much earlier with my whitelist (808 users currently), but I'll just have to deal with it when it happens.
tried here... tampermonkey on chrome didn't load it when using steamgifts...
edit¹: reinstalled and it worked fine. :D
edit²: have you ever considered to load this on other places like discussions board, trades and other places?
Sorry, I can't understand what you mean. What you mean by didn't load it?
I don't know exactly how tampermonkey works. I can't express in a better word.
When something is being loaded, I suppose it is being used, read or whatever verb tampermonkey does with scripts.
Hmmm... Sorry, I still can't follow you xD
And as for your second edit, you mean load that info? It would be overkill and you would probably get blocked since it would be requesting info from people's profile in every link you opened. Not to say that it would also slow down your browser. That's basically why it only works on the blacklist page.
nah, you kinda answered on second edit answer xD
interesting. didn't thought about that. nice script though! very useful here to clean a bit some blacklists. thanks!
Nice script and works great too, thanks! :D
but but... why are you hiding your kitty face under a pirate costume? :(
Oh, well, I've had this profile image for a long time, and in the original picture the cat looks pretty serious, even suspicious, so it's just a thing I do. I find it funny to photoshop in different themes, like pirate cat, or mafia cat, Santa cat, that sort of stuff. I guess I'm weird.
Well I didn't notice it until now apparently. Well, yesterday. ;) It's true the cat looked really serious and I totally understand the need to photoshop images, it's indeed quite fun. You're not weird at all. :) What's next? Have you decided? Bunny-kitty or clown-kitty could be nice. Just my two cents. :D
Hey, those are great themes, I didn't even think of those. I was thinking of goth-kitty, but I couldn't figure out a good way to do it, so I may do the clown one, or even the bunny one. Hmmm... I'll think about it, thanks! :3
It seems to work well. It did mark one user who only has a temporary suspension though.
Hmmm... Do you have the link to his profile? I admit I didn't test it that much, I had no easy way of finding suspended users to test the script, so I just had to go through my blacklist until I found some.
If you do have the link I would be interested to take a look at it and figure out why it showed the warning, you can either post it here or on my profile, as you wish.
Posted it on your profile, you can delete it when you've seen it.
Edit: I just went through my blacklist again and he wasn't flagged this time. Not sure what's going on here.
Edit 2: Just happened with another user, but refreshing the page made it disappear. I think it has something to do with using document instead of tempElem on the "permanent" check.
Okay, I fiddled a bit with your script and using tempElem.getElementsByClassName intead of document.getElementsByClassName fixed the detection issue.
Also, you can completely remove the following line:
That will solve the page flickering problem.
Yep, you are right, thanks. I don't know why I was using document.getElementsByClassName on line 32 when I should have clearly used tempElem instead, I guess it was just the habit of almost always using document to search for something.
Also, thanks for telling me there is no need to append the element to be able to work with it, I didn't know that. I thought the XMLHttpRequest would have some kind of option to return an HTML object, but it doesn't, all it has is responseText and responseXML, none of which were helpful for what I was requesting of SG, so I had to actually create a temporal element and then insert the text in there to be able to work with it, but didn't know I didn't actually have to append it, so thanks.
By the way, should I make a thread for it? Right now the script has no autoupdate or anything since it was just a quick thing I made, but if people find it useful maybe I should make a thread and keep updating it.
Seeing the number of people interested in it in this thread, I think it could be a useful tool for the larger community. So why not give it it's own thread.
Any change to get this working with the Whitelist too? My whitelist is long and if there are people who are permabanned on it, I'd like to remove them to make room for those who deserve to be there.
Sure you can, on line 7 change:
// @match https://www.steamgifts.com/account/manage/blacklist*
### To ###
// @match https://www.steamgifts.com/account/manage/whitelist*
I actually added the line below the blacklist so that it does both... though I did it after I removed all of them so couldn't test it. lol
But I was able to remove a whole lot that were taking up spaces that could be used by good people. Thank you very much. :)
Adding the second line does work. Thanks!
I just changed to *list* and it worked just as well for both.
Thanks to you and Zomby! The flickering is gone, and adding a second line with "whitelist" provides the same function for both.
dang I'm still on your blacklist. Maybe I can fake being perma-banned xD
in all seriousness, why is there a blacklist limit? I can't see how it benefits anything. Weird.
Server limitations, imagine the almost 900k users on SteamGifts each having 10k users on their blacklist. And now imagine them all requesting the giveaways page to the servers, and the servers having to go through that massive blacklist for each one of them and removing the giveaways from users in their blacklists.
Or at least I think that's the reason.
That makes sense. Thanks for answering.
another usefull script ! thank you
