I'm getting low on blacklist space, have to go through several hundred people to remove all those forever banned from this site. 6 on the first page alone. :P

Now we have a script to help with this :)

Damn near impossible to get that undone though, there is a reason its called Permanent. I can safely remove the people that haven't been back in months after a permaban.

According to the entries on public mass-GAs I would say that everyday users of SG are around 15-20000 (I may be wrong, it's just a guess). When one starts to have 0,5% of the active comunity in BL and has no more room for adding more, maybe it's time to change whatever criteria one's using or simply stop blacklisting.
I told him that I have no problems with his blacklist and won't BL him for revenge. When someone on a thread has me blacklisted I can wheter BL him in return or decide not to and let him know. Why? Because it might be a mistake, he might give me some explanations or simply he criteria for which he blacklisted me were not updated (CV, ratio or whatever).

Does it sound more clear now? I'm sorry, I'm not native speaking

Same thing for you. You have me in BL but I don't have you. I don't remember you doing anything bad to me and I guess you're no rule-breaker so I decided not to be revengeful.

Don't waste your precious time on those people. I've been blacklisted so many times that I simply stopped counting, I'm actually feeling sad for most of them, like for Sooth, who didn't only blacklist me, but also started taking my every response as an attack towards his person, which is both hilarious and really sad at the same time. Let them believe whatever they want to believe :3.

P.S. I have you on my whitelist, even though I don't make many WL giveaways. Instead of getting sad by BL, get happy because of WL :3.

I only add few categories of people to my BL, which are: rude guys, winners that don't say thank you, people with really embarassing CV (90 wins, 2 created) and serial rule-breakers (everyone can mistake once). Honestly I have better ways to spend my time than checking other people's accounts.

Anyway I'm pleased to hear that :) I added you some time ago for being positive in the comunity :P

I am also on Delta's Blacklist and frankly, its quite nice in here. I wouldn't have it any other way.
However, when I first realized I was blacklisted by him, I was wondering why, but now, I realize he is just a pretentious douche.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

When I think of people that move on after BL, I don't think about people that talk about that specific fact on the forum.
If you really didn't care, there would be no comment., I think that would be the point :p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

When I discover someone random having me on BL, if I decide to not BL him in return I let him know that because I think it's fair.
I, for instance, would gladly answer to someone asking about he being BL by me. Maybe it would be even solved by talking it out. It's not about whining or pretending to not care, it's about being more friendly despite being different people.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Just don't forget that even if you keep the tone friendly, it can be considered a calling out just as happened with me AND you :D I was suspended for discussing you being on my BL ~8 months ago, for a mistake you corrected since then. I even removed you that time from my BL and I still got a (deserved) suspension. Friendly tone and talking things out still can mean suspension, so in your own and anyone's else sake, do it in private steam chat or on older giveaways as private messages.

Can't get public attention then.

Comment has been collapsed.

I didn't see any line of the FAQ mentioning that talking about blacklist is "calling out", in fact I've seen lots of threads about it and some were about asking for deletion. Can you explain me how it works? I taught that it was regarding only rule-breakers and scammers, blacklist is more like a neutral argument.
Anyway didn't remember that episode bro, I'm pretty sure I have you on WL since a couple of months so I must have removed that event XD

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I didn't mean the asking about blacklisting, but the answer sometimes - for not activating something, multiwin, etc - you're not affected, but if someone actually have unactivated wins and asks around why s/he's blacklisted, it's borderline provocation. I have no problem with people asking me about it - I check my BL every few months and remove people who got the missed game / got rid of multiwins, often just being proactive and asking about it and promising to fix it will get one off the BL. So far I think less than 5 people did it, while the vast majority of my BL consists of rulebreakers who could fix it. :P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's what I thought, too. I'm not blacklisted by OP, nor do I want to assume anything, but having 1000 people in blacklist takes quite the effort. I have only 3 in mine, and that's one person who won my GA and failed to communicate, and two who bitched at me and blacklisted first over a different opinion in discussion threads. That's why it seems quite surreal thing to me, to have actually 1000 people in it...

Yeah exactly. I have like 15 - 20 or so and I have a reason for all of them (none are rulebreaking). I would almost think that OP just blacklists everyone with a different opinion...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, he said rulebreakers.... and I know there are many of those. Too many for me to blacklist, just counting on karma to sort it out. And by karma I mean people who report them.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You've been here two months, it's understandable that the OP has built up a bigger list in three years.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

By that logic, in 3 years I'll have 54 people blacklisted.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You would have to make the assumption that it is a linear progression.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

What are the other options and how do they exactly work in reality?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh it's possible that it would be exponential. Depends on the individual. In my own experience it grows differently at different times depending on how you feel -- sometimes shrinking. I only wanted to point out that it isn't a given unless of course you want it to be :3

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I'm quite consistent, so not going to fill up the list. Guess it's just a matter of preference, and I don't have to understand other people's trigger-happy blacklisting habits. shrug

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, for me it actually became less overtime. Back when I first joined the site, I blacklisted more people then now.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That was kind of my point. One can't accurately predict at what rate they will blacklist in 6 months or 36 months time. For all we know Delta started out with just 3 in the first 2 months as well. So wouldn't it make sense not to judge people based on the number of people they have in their blacklist?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Exactly. I don't see a reason to judge someone because of the size of their blacklist, but if I see someone with so many people on it, I do start to wonder how they managed to get so many.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

How long has Blacklist feature been in place?

Most likely it's not even linear progression for me. As of now I have fifty five accounts in blacklist over three years in this site.

Though I use blacklist for a totally different purpose, so maybe that's the difference.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I think it came with SG2, but can't remember the time. Either of it's startup, or closely afterwards.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

In it's current form yes. Though even before the redesign you could have a blacklist you just had to manually maintain it.

I wasn't implying every user whose been around a while will have a full list but it does make it easier to fill it especially for users as active as Delta.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Except the blacklist feature wasn't around yet three years ago.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not in its current form but we could still use them.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, it required approval before it could be used and there was no limit to the size. We're talking about the actual feature that was added in SGV2.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Approval consisted of opening a support ticket saying you wanted to use one. The size limitations are understandable now that it's maintained on site and as such is using the servers. The features are exactly the same and the vast majority of users who maintained one before V2 will have transferred it over. I'm positive OP falls into this category.

Bonus points for joining a conversation four months late though

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Four months late but obviously still active as shown by the other recent posts. If the OP didn't want any more comments he can just close it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It only takes one post to bump it back to the top. At least the others were new comments not continuing an old comment chain. OP might not be bothered about new comments but it's not OP that's getting the notifications in this case.

Thanks for the link. As someone who is a paid subscriber to multiple services I'm a bit disappointed to learn that this is not even considered as an option, but ok, I can live with the functionality that's currently implemented.
