Does this prove to be useful?
It would be cool if it showed actually rare or not well-known games, but there are just all indie games and classics... good concept, bad execution. 'Hidden gems' due to this site: Fallout, Deus Ex GOTY, Call of Juarez, HALF-LIFE(!!!!)?? List should contain only 'gems' not every game on steam, ranked from least known
Anyway in a topic I can recommend myself Has-Been Heroes, very underrated game, so fun and addicting, well made and creative rogue-like

So called "hidden gems" existed earlier, but not anymore. The community finds everything worthwhile very quickly. If something seems good but not too popular, it means something is wrong with the game. And if you play enough time, not 30 minutes, but 2-3 hours, you'll find out that the game is actually mediocre, broken, unfinished, unoriginal, e.t.c.

If this is proving something, it's that it will be impossible to compile such list, either automatically or manually, also because what someone considers a gem might be the complete opposite for someone else.
It managed to waste the author's and the readers time in the same way, though.

Jeez, Full Throttle is considered to be a "hidden gem", kids these days... Also how are Night in the Woods or What Remains of Edith Finch "hidden"?

Well, here's another useless list, just for fun -- I figure this thread's as good as any a place to put it. This one was composed manually. It's a list of games that a bunch of long-time players don't own. I can't claim any of these to be actual gems since I haven't played them myself, so let the buyer beware. If even one person finds something they happen to like and didn't know about, I'd already consider it a success. :-)
