I get this often. purchase through a browser instead of steam application. it'll work then.

Got this problem a couple months ago but I don't remember how I got rid of it :| I guess it wore off after couple of hours

I get this: "There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."
But if I don't and after I log in to Paypal to pay for a game then I get "An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed. Please contact Steam Support."
My father has the same.
Get your stupid shit together Valve. It's ridiculous. What's the point of a sale if you can't buy anything?

Best advise: Ask Steam support..they may better help you than a bunch of forum ppl. :)

I wanted to buy something on Steam, but I'm getting this error when I try to pay:
There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance.
Am I the only one getting it? I have checked my bank account and it's not empty and my card seems to be working.
