What do you think?
Graphics cards should have cooking instructions on the back now.

Just because I'm curious, would someone enlighten me, what was wrong with the card in the first place? Did you get some liquid on the card, that baking does the trick? It's probably mentioned in the video, but I too lazy to turn on the sound and watch the whole thing. And it's mentioned nowhere in the description. That's why I hate youtube: you often have to watch several minutes of video for one piece of information that could've been written in one sentence. Makes me wonder why mankind invented writing at all.

Yeah, I fixed my old laptop graphics card 4-5 times, unfortunately now it doesn't work anymore even after baking.
I own the same gpu on my desktop! :D

Yeah, I think you're right, I had to bake it again every 4-6 months or so, but I rarely used the laptop.
Still, you can go on for some time while you look around for a replacement. Better than nothing I guess.

Water damage from rain (his PC was close to an open window during heavy rain/wind) the water damage is obvious to anyone interested enough to look close so he did not bother to RMA as he expects 90% chance they will not accept it.
Plus he is lazy.
His whole PC was affected and his Motherboard was ruined too (the rest was ok after a couple days) the motherboard was getting old though so the 1080 was much more upsetting.

Sure, why not. This was not that uncommon for mainboards with faulty connections.

I fixed my GeForce GTX 460 this way last year (or was it 2 years ago?) - with less aluminium foil though. I just had my first BlueScreen again last month. I guess I'll have to try & cook it again.
