What's your Download Speed Average?
Are you sure it's not telling you that you have 2.5 Megabit. they're 8 bits in a Byte so that's about 400KB.

if steam is set to display in bits it does mpb, so that picture is in bytes. I only get 512kb myself.

yes, steam is in bytes. the internet service providers tell you your speeds in bits though in order to make it sound better than it is. and i'm pretty sure you get 512KB (kilobytes per second) which would be approx 4Mb/s (megabits per second) download speed. otherwise 512Kb (kilobits per second) you would only be getting 0.5Mb/s (Half a Megabit).

Around 5mb/s on steam.
But i havent updated my plan since forever,i guess i could get 10-15mb/s for same price these days.

I have the problem too. General internet speed is pretty fast, downloading anything else is fine, but Steam game downloads are very slow for some reason.

Not so lucky, since a lot of people said that they have much faster internet. ;_;

1,2MBs max, 1,0MBs right now because there is someone else using it. It is still pretty slow but It still doesnt stop me from downloading tens of GBs every day.

Not really huge at all sadly, but the best I can get :) But yea going from 400KBs -> 1MBs, might not sound a lot, but it is a huuuuuge improvement. I used to have ~450KBs most of the time till a few weeks ago my ISP finally got enough of me calling them (over the past 3 years) and finally came to fix something so now I actually get the speed I should have gotten all those years...
If I could borrow a bit of my internet speed to you I would, because I know how much it sucks :/

Im usually dl'in at 6+ Mb unless all the kids are dl'ing as well. :)

i know right.
got fiber in october and i get 150mbps (18MB) and it's amazing.
GTA V downloads in 1 hour.

I usually hover around 17 mb/s which is disappointing since we just upgraded our internet to 150mb/s :(

I recently got upgraded from a 200Mbps connection to 300 with no extra monthly charge. I would have given away that 100 Mbps down for an extra 4 Mbps UP. It's hard to Youtube with that shitty upload. :(
I had another go at it, and this is the max speed I've seen in any aplication.

We're supposed to be getting fiber in the area soon, so I'm hoping I'll see speeds like yours in the next 6 months or so.
They're always stingy with the upload speed here, too. I don't upload anything, though, so it doesn't affect me much.
I really can't complain -- they're upgrading everything for free to remain competitive.

That's awesome then! For me it was not that big of a difference, going from 200 to 300, but I still remember going from 20 to 200. So you`ll enjoy it, for a while, after that it will be slow once more. lol

That is the correct speed. Network connectivity is usually measured in bits per second whereas storage is usually measured in bytes. It takes eight bits to make a byte. For some reason, Steam measures network connectivity in bytes so you need to take your network speed and divide by eight to get your theoretical max Steam speed.

Usually 2-4 MBps, atm for whatever reason it's 5.2 MBps DLing Aragami. It's still bullshite thou - I have 100/100 fibre connection, I often DL torrents with 30-50 MBps speed, yet on Steam I never saw DL speed over 7MBps... Quite a shame for the biggest and most-earning platform on the fucking planet...

Pretty close - Lower Silesia, Wroclaw to be exact. And it's not the case of weak connection causle like I said -I have no problems DLing most of other stuff, but Steam DL speeds suck. Also in my hometow in centre PL its the same but there it is more likely the case of my mom ownish shitty isp plan ;)

I know them as well - aka my mom ;p 75PLN for 10/1 Still sucks ;p When I moved to Wroclaw 10 years ago it was (old eWro) 2nd fastest network in whole country. But they did not improve it at all yet only raised prices (and sold network to big players twice along the way) :( And in the 10-years meantime half of the big cities in PL caught up with them and then ran over them with better connections for lower prices :/
I know that I have much better connection that I would have in some small city. I know that I have hundreds times better connection I'd have in Bieszczady. But still I am salty that I had one of the best internet connections in Poland and now it's just "it's ok, be happy you don't live at koniec świata" ;p

Well yes, if I didn't live in a flat in the capital of Poland then you can be sure I'd have much worse internet, location is crucial here, but amount of ISPs (as in, competition) is important for good prices as well. Usually both location and competition go together.

As I'm reminiscing about my poor 400KB/s max internet, I was curious what other's have.
I'm also writing this as I wait for FFXIII to finish it's 3-4 day download straight lol.
55$ a Month for 2-3 Mbps RIP
