I know that "the perfect brand" doesn't exist, but I'm interested in your opinion. Which laptop manufacturer do you trust the most? Which one has the best mix between price/performance/quality?
We're talking for for all types of machines, not only gaming orientated.
My current laptop is from Acer's TravelMate series and for the two years since I've bought it, I never had any problems. Also, I'm particularly curious on your thoughts on Lenovo.

after i've brought samsung and hp i will never buy anything from this brands again.

samsung battery was totaly shit and the laptop (low budget i3) wasn't able to run more then 1.5h without charging

HP Ultrabook (expensive ultrabook with i5) gets waaaaay to hot and throttle it self down even when you just look at some videos on youtube and twitch. (Cleaned it severeal times, changed heatsink paste and stuff like that)

Sony Vaio sale was closed on 1 July 2014.

Toshiba did some nice laptops back in the days that i worked with at my last job. Same goes for dell.

Thinkpads (in the past ibm now lenovo) all the way since....ever.....but they are not special anymore, do not have superior quality, no more outstanding features...they just have a little bit flair of the past. Meanwhile new technology takes a bit longer to find their way to them and of course they are overpriced.
Anyway I still stick on them for all my business purposes....and for private matters I take cheap acer and asus ....cause if those fail, i just buy a new one.(besides i still like my x40 also for private matters)

This is totally subjective and mostly depends on buy power but;

IBM Lenovo was decent, chinese Lenovo is mediocre (by experience). My scale would be:

Toshiba! > Asus! > MSI > Sony > Acer > HP! > Dell > Gateway > Samsung! > Lenovo! > Fujitsu!

leaving Apple out of basket since rest are Oranges that operate on Windows :3. Exclamation marks are brands that I used it past.

I agree, buy power is a huge factor. And don't worry about the subjective part, I'm looking for some general impressions of the users.

I like the keyboards on Lenovo and Apple's, I like the screens on Apple's (obviously), I like the heat management, various options and fair pricing on Asus (but man, they got the most terrible keyboards and screens - see the dilemma there? ;)
If battery life is an issue, this is a whole other game though.

Huh. Surprised Acer got any votes at all. Between friends and family, I don't know anyone that didn't own an Acer product that didn't end up grossly unhappy.

Then I guess I'm lucky. Mine is working just fine (but I voted for potato). It may be something to do with the series or price ranges.

I see that a lot of people are voting for Lenovo. Did they ever fix their Superfish adware security issues? I've personally avoided anything with the Lenovo brand like the plague ever since this incident.

Maybe it´s cause most people that voted for lenovo are Thinkpad-users...and business-models wasn't fishy :-)

i only have been used 2 brands until now. asus and hp.
and if i'm gonna buy new laptop, i definitely gonna buy asus again.
my old hp laptop is hot, and after about 2 years, it's starting to restart itself if i used it without cooling pad.
